Dude was aggressive in lane one day battering me with meeps. I was like "hmmph". Someone taught this guy the "Wu-tang Sword" when they shouldn't have. I was half way impressed. We still beat him but I see Bard making a turnaround by next season. I still don't expect to see him in LCS but I bet he won't continue to suck donkey @#!$.

He was in Mid Season Invitational. He's probably close to viable at this point.

He needs a few buffs, I think. Maybe more movement speed when roaming? I think he'll be too weak until they do a little something to him.

He really needs some work on his heal, since right now it's his most lackluster and most expensive skill. I think the power level in lane is fine, but after that it just takes too long to charge to be impactful.

I would agree that his heal needs some help. Even in the lane it is sooooo underwhelming. I understand it being a weak heal for the immediate use, but after letting it fully charge for 10 seconds it seems so lack-luster and is still a very negligible amount healed considering the mana cost and the fact that you or your ally waited for 10 seconds already before using it.

I would change it so that after the full 10 seconds it would then heal an ally for %max HP or double the initial heal (whichever is greater).

For anyone who hasn't yet tried out Bard with item 3285, try it now if you can. Every first Meep you land will go nuclear.

If I didn't love Tanky/Utility Bard sooo much, I'd try the bruiser Bard.

I build him with item 3110 and item 3512 for defensive stats and build item 3285 as my third item (after obligatory boots and sightstone). With 200+ armor and 120+ mr he has decent survivability and Ludens gives him some crazy poke and actually lets him clear waves if needed. item 3027 is like my favorite item on him tbh, because the stats it gives are all awesome on him but getting the 2800 gold in time for it to be worth it means you have to be pretty damn fed.

Yea, RoA would be a dream. I'mma have to try ZZ'rot after Frozen heart. I can see that extra MS near turrets quite useful on him. Just got him to lvl 4 mastery, so now I'mma have some fun tweaking my build.

The ZZ'rot is nice because it gives a great amount of MR and armor, and the active is useful for Bard since he has pretty bad pushing power until you get a lot of chimes.

it seems people are still trying to find his calling! ive seen both attack, and mage. ive tried building him tanky and its good, but attack based Bard can be deadly! especially with his passive slow its crazy. Im glad though people are starting to see his potential!

I was good with him before it was cool.

if they´d learn him they wouldn´t play him 2v2. just saying.

explain.

pretty much his only strength right now is roaming around early on, opening the map for his team and especially for his jungler (e.g. helping open up new gankpaths for the likes of Udyr). In a 2v2 he´s neither especially good at sustain, nor at dmg, nor at peeling - so if you are not significantly more skilled than your opponent you´re bound to lose lane...and game, as he doesnßt scale well aswell. So he works best with a dedicated early-strategy playing either a laneswap or a dedicated 1v2lane (e.g. caitlyn is great here) and a sort of double-jungle..using his only real strength, his high map-mobility through cinders + his ability to setup interessting roamingpaths for his jungle/midlane early on. He´s definitely a Champ that is mostly designed with professional play in mind, not really good SoloQ-material.

I've seen pretty good bards. He has very good teamfight and pick potential. He also has decent ranged poke and engage. Most of all, he has the most unique skill in the game of allowing your entire team to travel unpassable terrain and open up wierd angles to gank.

Yeah, I think he's OK now, only real problem is that unlocking his full potential requires a lot of coordination. Interesting note, his win rate in Diamond (solo queue) and in 5v5's is now pushing 50% (unfortunately not enough data to talk about specifically high-level 5v5's).

Saw an AD bard top vs our Rengar.. Bard wiped the floor with him. Not saying the Rengar was anything special. It was interesting to see.
