Akali or Irelia?

Hey guys! I have enough IP to afford either of them. I wanted to know which one is better. The role I am looking for is either top lane or mid.

nither is a life changing choice over the other. if your playing irelia might as well play Jax and akali is really only a tank atm with no cc kind of like a Volibear

Irelia will be really strong next patch with the Trifroce buffs. Akali is still basically trash tier. So go with Irelia.

Akali is really fun to play as an assassin, but if youre going to play her tank dont bother, it's boring.

Irelia is pretty uninteractive in her builds and gameplay pattern, but still a good overall champ

Well it depends on the situation.

It really depends what you want to do. Akali isn't in a great spot right now, since everybody has pink wards. However, she's still good as an AP drain-tank with item 3116 item 3146 and then whatever you want (either tanky or more AP for more damage). She does well as a cleanup crew but can't get into teamfights if she's building AP.

Irelia is similar, but has the ability to more readily dive into a teamfight (which Akali can't do if she's not building tank) and then being able to CC somebody if they have a higher percentage of health.
