So from what I'm understanding, starting next season, we'l lbe having individual divisions for each role, so for ex: you could be platinum in mid but bronze at adc, what are your guys' thoughts on this change if this is what the actual plan is?

It also kinda sucks if you had planned on reaching Diamond on ADC by the end of the day, and you end up getting autofilled as Support so you're forced back into low Silver elo.
Offensive Bias1 votesI think Riot needs to rework the ranking system period. Its old and played out and it shouldnt take 20 30-45min games (with losses included) to move up a division. Its a good idea, hopefully they'll get an idea off of it.

just why separate ranks? what makes it worse is that there'll likely be a system to find a middle ground for a rank total of sorts, and since adc's suck for the last 2-5 patches, it's near impossible to get a high rank in those conditions.

The main thing is ranking up and the ranking system in general needs an overhaul and thats the whole point of this conversation, making ranks based on the role you play is just an idea of how they could redo it. lets not forget people thought having a main and primary role before starting matchmaking in solo que wouldnt be possible, but that happened...Maybe they could try it in Clash, I don't know but I think it would work best there if it were to be tried out

it seems that it could be your ranks in each role adds up to 1 total rank, personally, I'd hate this cause I can't play adc since it's now just a meme role.

I am a great mid and ok ADC but pretty bad at top and jung so I get that, but at the same time if you have someone Diamond 1 Mid or even like myself GOld 1 mid playing with lower elo players their game knowledge will not be as good and thus putting them at a huge disadvantage.

According to what's been said, it seems that each role rank will add up to 1 grand total rank, so ex: it could be like if you're silver 1 in all roles your grand total rank could be like gold 3 or however tf they choose to work that.

PopcornBunni1 votesKind of needed to happen given the elo backbone of matchmaking. Elo was never meant to track your skill at 5 different tasks at once.
And the current elo system is really easy to abuse with duo queuing. A lower rank support can duo with a higher rank botlaner (or similarly a low top and higher jungle) and abuse the fact that their team's total MMR will match their opponent's while the first team is only allocating their MMR to carry roles and the latter has a higher rank noncarry which will have a lesser impact on the game.
