@Meddler/Xypherous: Regarding the turret change - Keep the debuff IF the enemy is backdooring

darkdill··22 votes·743 views

Playing against a backdooring Tryndamere tonight, I realized that the upcoming nerfs to Inhibitor and Nexus turrets are going to make backdoor split-pushers like Tryndamere and Yi become hard to stop, especially when they decide "fuck minions, I'm just gonna backdoor".

To keep backdooring hard to pull off, the laser turrets should still have their debuff on their attack, but ONLY if there are no enemy minions nearby (Zz'Rot Portal Voidlings don't count). There, no return of "OHGODITSYI!"

so ban them. Pick them yourself, they have some higher skill tricks but neither is all that hard to learn. engage the second they appear on your minimap way down there and win the 5v4, they won't 1v1 a tower faster than your whole team.

Wow, suggesting to ban a split-pushing Tryndamere in hindsight. Good tip bud. Let's not ban strong/meta-strong champions for Yi and Tryndamere.

Meta shifts. new meta favors split pushers. tryn and yi become strong/meta-strong. ban yi and trynd.

Not a good idea to ban Tryndamere or Yi when you can just counterpick them with Rammus, Alistar, etc.

if it's so easy then why are you bitching as if there's no solution, then ignoring and downvoting solutions when suggested? Do you just have to be a victim?

I didn't downvote you. Besides, Rammus and Alistar can be counterpicked themselves.

But what if you're playing Team Builder or Blind Pick, and you don't have a counter against BD Yi or Tryndamere? Should they be able to 1v1 an inhibitor turret so easily in any case?

if you play blind pick then anything that follows is under the heading, "your problem." Don't instalock your champs and make sure you can deal with shit.

If I had designed team builder I'd have had people lock positions but not champs, then dumped you all into a draft when ready. As is, take advantage of the time you have in the lobby. You seem so worried about it so..."hey guys, what are we gonna do if there's a splitpusher?" They work best against uncoordinated teams.

finally, I'm stopping this discussion unless you get some extra concrete on those goalposts. first you're counterpicking a splitter, then next post you're getting counterpicked by your already picked opponent, and then the next sentence it's blind pick.

Should be the opposite where it only triggers if there are multiple champions if anything because this change is specifically to enable splitpushing.

But splitpushing, where you push into the tower along with your minions, still works.

However, if you attack the tower without minions, you get the debuff.

I'm pretty sure backdooring is not intended in any MOBA ever. DotA 2's backdoor protection is even more strict. Unless you are doing something like 1200 DPS, you can't even destroy any buildings without creeps around to disable it.

A lot of the reason why Tryndamere is a good splitpusher is he necessitates the use of several people to stop him since he is likely to just straight up dive and kill the person who came to stop him then take the turret. If splitpushers cannot dive, their job becomes much harder.

As long as a minion is beside the tower, the debuff can't be applied.

How does that prevent splitpushers from diving? Unless that Tryn is backdooring and diving for a kill?

Or Tryndamere is pushing minions to second tower but diving the enemy at inhibitor tower?

Okay, interesting idea, but how will the turrets know whether or not someone is backdooring?

darkdill3 votes

It'd be tied to the turret's AR/MR buff they get when no opposing minions are around. So if you're attacking a turret without your minions, that's technically a backdoor.
