Why does Shaco's Shiv % missing health scale with level?

Unreformed Shaco··3 votes·666 views

Jhins fourth bullet is 15% base. Lee's Q is 8% at level and rank 1. Elise Q is 8% at level and rank 1.

Why does Shaco get gimped with 3/4/5/6/7/8?

EDIT 1: It gets full scale by level 9 from memory, so there is going to be less than 100 damage difference, it is just the insult of drawing the short stick, yet again.

Because Rito has always hated Shaco, and they do whatever they can to keep him in the dirt.

I hate to use that as an excuse, but it really feels that way..

At every turn there seems to be a double standard against him.

It's because his Q and W are so powerful when used correctly.

That can be said about any champion with a combo.

Then there is the infamous Lee's QRQ which can wipe like 3/4 of any squishier characters in an instant and there is virtually no counterplay for that if Lee either flashes or hops next to you, which he will.

Or that Yasuo's R working on anybody's knockup for no reason even though he's already resource-less and functions on nearly no CD, because I guess god forbid he actually needs to land a 0 cost and 0 drawback skillshot.

Shaco is allowed to at least keep a combo.

SHACO OP NERF HIM PLZ

jk yeah i don't know why they nerfed shaco but kept hecarum and vi almost untouched.

Unreformed Shaco1 votes

He has always been hated because he is frustrating to play against, but so is Yasuo..

you're really going to bitch about anything Shaco related when the champ is doing FINE. in fact better than fine. his winrate is over 50%. cry me a river.

Maybe it's just that Shaco players got so used to being gutted they are no longer affected by nerf-bats, and can still somehow make Shaco work despite being nerfed over and over again?

It could also be that the game is way too early dependent and snowball-y, so that a champion like Shaco who's geared entirely for early gets the free goodies and benefits by default rather than them actually being powerful themselves?

Who knows. I won't know.

He isn't strong because of his own kit though, he abuses the items that give artificial damage and scaling.

SettDownShutUp2 votes

Jhin is a very obvious target, his 4th shot leaves him with a rather large opening for abuse due to that long reload. Lee requires you to go all in, putting you directly into harms way. Elise I would say has it the best of the bunch, but it still requires you directly in melee range.

Shaco? Ranged, non-skillshot ability that applies a slow and is also an execute mechanic for his kit with little to no chance for meaningful counterplay due to his ability to immediately turn invisible.

There ARE reasons, that said it feels pitiful right now against targets with full health.

But that doesn't address the question I asked.

Why for the first 9 levels does he miss out on 50 or so damage when everyone else gets it.

He isn't doing super fully sick bursts at level 3. The damage would be very similar when used at max health.

If they say that 8% missing health is too strong for Shaco (Who unlike the other two junglers, has no escape during a gank), why is it acceptable for their posterchild and sally the spider.

I lol'd at

Lee sin requires you to go all in, directly putting you into harms way.

Q>Q>W

Such harm.

Craft Zeppelin1 votes

maybe, just maybe because shaco is invisible and it would be release khazix with execute on Q all over again.

Unreformed Shaco1 votes

but by that logic he shouldn't have an execute at all.

And that is why its a fairly mild execute.

Unreformed Shaco1 votes

but it isn't, it is the same %MHP as the other two during mid-late game.

early game the bonus 5% will only be giving him and extra 30 damage tops against champs.

Its the fucking principle of the double stanard.

30 damage execute early game is BIG. Like how much are you expecting? You should label it and let us know if you are concerned.

Unreformed Shaco1 votes

if it is so big, why do lee and elise get it?
