Is it just me or is new Pantheon pretty well balanced for a new champion?

Just pointing out how similar he is to Renekton before he inevitably gets gutted. It feels like he's really really bad if he falls behind, has distinct counterplay (and great counterpicks) and can do insane amounts of damage with enough AD.

I don't mind playing Pantheon. I don't mind having Pantheon on my team. I don't mind playing against Pantheon. I can't really recall if there has ever been a new champion i felt that way about before now.

He seems pretty balanced maybe even on the weak side, but there is something I really don't like, his E. It's meant to block attacks from the direction he's facing so theoretically if you have some ability that hits him from behind you should damage him.

But in reality it just ignores everything if the enemy is on the shield side, it doesn't seem right that draven R2, ornn R1 deals no damage. Also facing karthus when he's casting his global R and blocking it is weired but draven R2 style attacks that hit from behind do no damage.

Still overall fair ability, actually has speed debuff if running away and a considerable cooldown. Mortal will bonus for it seems pathetic though, maybe give a mortal will stack at the end for the slam as well.

I agree there, there's practically never a reason to use his enhanced shield unless you're at the very start of the game as a jungler. It could use some kind of rework, or perhaps even move the slow from his Q to his E. I like how hard he falls off and how he generally loses auto attack duels - he plays like something in between gangplank and renekton and that leaves him with very clear windows of weakness, along with a considerable mana hunger and a lack of synergy with traditionally "broken" items.

I'm hoping that he doesn't get nerfs OR buffs at the moment - just a quality of life change to his E. He doesn't need anything else.

Yeah, I'd say so. His winrate is low, but that's normal for a new champion, I think.

He's fine. He's a HARD counter for fizz. People tend to take several months to understand a champions potential here.

Alkali. Pyke. Sylas. Yummi.

All were called useless here on the boards for weeks on release.underpowered.

And then......

I think he is by far too weak

I think he's strong but not ball busting insta-gib level so nobody cared too much

He's supposed to be early game focused but has nowhere near the amount of damage Aatrox or Renekton has.

So live he is a bit weak. The changes on the PBE really feel good. He will hit 50% win rate with them I think.
