So I am noticing that a lot of support choices don't have the ability to heal in bot lane. Am I making a mistake by taking 
? I do want to learn to get better and I prefer the support role over any other role. But is it better to take like a

I used to main but I got tired of my dumbass adcs constantly suiciding. Now I just play mage supports because my adc cant suicide into the enemy bot lane if the enemy bot lane sucides into me.
Depends if your adc is an absolute caveman or not
Nothing wrong with "traditional" supports at all; if you enjoy those and want to get better at them, feel free to play them knowing you can succeed perfectly well!
Thanks for the responses! Now I don't feel bad about it. Because when I play Sona people tell me to choose something better, but when I play with Nami they accuse me of kill stealing or not healing. It's like what do you want me to do? Do I save my heal so you get the kill and risk you dying, or heal you as you take damage and risk killing the enemy because my heal jumped.

Heal supports are in a fine position. Shielding got smacked down hard this season, but heals didn't. Tank supports are also doing fine, as tank junglers have suffered a lot in S8.
Then I will just stick with the three supports I am really good with then! Though I want to branch out into other positions it's just that this community at times can be scary with what they say to people.
As an ADC main for over 2 years now, there is no such thing as a bad support. I've had a Raka that got me a double kill at level 1 when i'm on VAYNE. I've had sonas who would get hooked in by blitz and we walk out with doubles, i've had a Zed support and we ended lane 15/3 together. Just play what YOU want to play
