I don't understand Camille's ult...

Vekkna··39 votes·3,103 views

Hextech Ultimatum is supposed to force a 1v1 duel. So I'm in a game last night, and the enemy Camille flies out of the jungle, hits R, and I die in about 2 seconds. I thought, "wow, her damage is crazy!" Death recap shows 90% of the damage from the enemy Fizz.

So...she forces "1v1 duels," but her teammates can still contribute damage? Why not just rename the ability "The Gangbang Box" or something more accurate?

"The Gangbang Box" is actually a pretty solid name

I thought so, too.

Your allies can reenter the box. It's more like it forces the target to fight. Xin's ult mechanically does the same thing, but it doesn't force the target to fight.

Seems like a more healthy old poppy old. At least your homies can rejoin to knock Camille's huge (might I say, fine) ass out and save your own.

Eh, not really. It singles one enemy out as being unable to leave the box, but his allies are perfectly free to reenter it. It's just for preventing an escape.

no, she singles out an enemy of her choice (by knocking out other enemies) and prevents that person from leaving the zone until it expires, camille dies, or until camille leaves the zone herself.

think of it as another version of Xin's ult except you cant escape a cage.

Astôlfo6 votes

Camille dying doesn't break the cage. It's apparently intentional, but I think that's ehh.

Ralanr3 votes

I thought her death was supposed to break it.

Astôlfo13 votes

Her video specifically stated even her dying will not break it.

Ralanr2 votes

Ahh. Must have missed that.

I learned this the hard way when I dove her under tower. Camille died, but so did I, 3 tower hits after she did.

Damn... Camille's gonna be super strong competitively as long as she isn't trash because of that pick potential.

It persists through Camille's death. Please watch champion spotlight

too bad someone already told me that two days ago now.

I just hate how the zone still stays up even after she dies. Trying to kill her is hard enough.

So...she forces "1v1 duels,"

No...she does not, and I have no idea where you got that misinformation from.

Everyone except the champion who got ulted, can freely walk in and out of the box. Even Camille herself can leave at any time, however, if she does, the box disappears.

Hextech Ultimatum is supposed to force a 1v1 duel.

Do you have a citation on this claim?

Vekkna1 votes

I guess it was just something I inferred from the preview saying it knocked out other players. It also gave examples of Camille's allies shooting projectiles into the box. I was left with the impression that only 2 people could be in the box, but you could shoot enemies from outside the box.

with all the information given, I thought they made clear the limits of the ult. it is meant to single out a target, forcing away the target's teammates if they are to close, if only for a split second. It's pretty much to pick off squishy, high-priority targets, or to force a slippery assassin or a ballsy diver to stay under tower with you if they want to pick that fight.

five oh tree 7 votes

Someone should start a petition to rename it to "The Gangbang Box"

That would be pretty great.

Lintu Puck1 votes

since I don't think we can use Team Four Star's term of "The F**k Box" >.>

It's basically a better version of jarvin's ultimate . . . on a fiora clone.

Except they're nothing alike, but okay. Gotta love ignorance. Hilarious as always.

She only causes a 1v1 for a very brief moment, the enemy team and her teammates can still re-enter the field.

Khadaver1 votes

except her teammates don't get moved, if she is with someone then it's not even a 1v1 briefly

Sukishoo3 votes

It is when there's no one else around, like early game.

Khadaver1 votes

if there is no one else around then it's already a 1v1

Sukishoo3 votes

No, if it's just Camille, her opponent and her opponents ally.

Astôlfo3 votes

Because everyone can re-enter. It just prevents her target from leaving, as well as herself from leaving, unless she wants the target to be able to escape.

ScissorsNstuff3 votes

who said anything about a 1v1?

FakeGravity1 votes

well is an ultimatum not a "the challenge box" or "the duel field" or something like that, she basically say "YOU! stay here" and dont let that person leave

She actually says "You will stay where I want you to stay." "Stay Here." or "You and I will end this. Now."

Of course, if you try to leave, she then will say: "Ask permission if you want to leave." "I didn't say you could leave." "You didn't really think I would let you go that easily?" "You will leave when I allow it." Or "That's not going to work!"

:)

It's only that the target can't leave

Sraeg20131 votes

She forces a 1v1 duel, but only for a moment.

Both teams can enter the area and contribute.

Kind of like Xin Zhao, but her target can't run away.

It is a 1v1 duel with some counter play. Look at legion commanders ult from dota 2 it is what Camille's ult is like, but LC's ult is more of an all in and much more annoying.

Because the enemy team can do the same to her lol

Not sure if this is supposed to happen but as nocturne I ulted into her (enemy camile) box while she was ulting my mid syndra. Not even sure what that ult is supposed to do tbh, it doesn't seem like it does its job at all

Irelia Bot1 votes

It will kick all enemies out of the area when first case but then they can re enter to assist the targeted ally.

Your Noc game sounds like it is functioning like it should.

Juggernaut Camille is 1K true damage on Q :D

CrazyBear19871 votes

she doesn't force 1v1, in fact both side allies can re enter afterwards.

it just singles you out and makes it easier for her allies to get you since you can't run away. more of kill secure zone.

just hope you have alistar around to headbutt her out.

Irelia Bot1 votes

It does not force a 1v1 duel. It forces one specific enemy to be unable to leave a given area for 4 seconds and makes them take more damage for that 4 seconds form Camille.
