About Janna's Q

Janna's nado needs an indicator for allies. How am I supposed to know which way she's casting it? Being she's support, it would be a great help if I knew where to position myself. I've been disappointed too many times trying to bait the nado assist, just for it to go whirling in the opposite direction. So when the tornado starts to spin, an arrow should appear for allies to indicate the direction of the spellcast.

I like that idea.

janna already synergizes incredibly well with her adc's, I feel like something would have to be changed if we were to give her teammates that much free knowledge

Your argument is invalid. The only thing that needs to change is allowing allies to know wtf she's doing with her skills. Her Q just sits there until it's reactivated or fully charged. The only one who knows where it's going is Janna.. and she's a support- it needs to be a more cooperative skill. I love the ability- and I want to be able to let her use it to its full advantage. So when I'm an ally of hers- I want to be able to position myself right. She could be aiming where they are- Or where she thinks they will be- Or just casting it as a safety net. How am I supposed to know??? The 'randomness' makes it a very dangerous assisting tool.

Unless we practice basic game theory- and just keep playing the same way in hopes that she cast it intelligently.
But then again, we don't know what that player is thinking. An indicator would resolve all doubts.

all that you said was how much of an improvement it would be, and yes, it does seem like a necessary change for the game's health. My issue is that Janna has been a top-tier support for a long time now, and with the new found clarity for her teammates that will allow her to obviously synergize and now set up organized plays with players outside of a premade's call, it will be a pretty significant buff.

She already sits at just over a 53% win rate (and has been for quite some time) so my question to you is:

Do you really think that giving her this buff (and the fact that it it's for clarity and teamwork purposes doesn't matter here, it's still a buff) doesn't require any compensation changes despite her already consistent and above-average win rate?

the only change it would make for me is that I wouldn't have to spam pings everytime I try to setup a tornado to show where it's going

indeed, it certainly is a needed change for basic clarity but we can't deny that most jannas don't spam pings with every tornado and with better/easier synergy comes more strength, which results in an even higher win rate

As much as this buff sounds amazing, janna is in a very good spot right now and does not need buffs.
