About Solo Players and their impact on a game

There is this recurring argument that nowadays in Dynmaic Q, Solos have less impact than Premades, but quite often when you dig a little and try to have a discussion, what people seem to say is that ONE single Solo should have as much impact as the whole premade.

Y'all realize that it's perfectly normal for three people to have more impact than one people, right? They don't magically count as one just because they queued together.

I'm quite ready to admit that 2-3 Solos together can do less things than a premade Duo/Trio, because the added coordination allows you to pull off stuff that you normally shouldn't, but every Solo still has full control over 1 of the 5 champions in their team. They have probably* slightly less impact than people in premades, but they still have quite a lot of impact nonetheless. Saying the the "only", or the "main" deciding factor in a match is the premade is a gross exaggeration...

Also, there is a prevailing idea that premades naturally have better communication. This simply is not so. They have ACCESS to better communication channels, yet I don't think that just because you're in a premade that you have better communication.

True, I often meet premades who are obviously not on voice chat and still use the text chat, and I'm very rarely on voice chat myself. And technically Solos could use Curse or similar and be on voice chat too (even if it's unlikely in practice, especially on EUW where we have many different languages).

Yep, I've seen marvelous levels of communication from ONE person in the game with pings alone. It's amazing the depth of information you can communicate with intelligent pings and coming from only one person as well... That player was a solo player as well.

When people complain about solo vs premades they are complaining about things like 5 solo players vs 5 players in a premade. No need to be dense.

That's not even what this thread is about.

People say that when they are the Solos in a team 3+1+1, they have no influence on the game, because the match will be decided by the premades. That is what this thread is about. So don't call me dense...

( On a tangential note, people don't complain about what you said, because it's so rare it's barely noticeable. They complain more about stuff like (3+1+1 versus 2+1+1+1) or (2+2+1 versus 1+1+1+1+1), which are much more common. )
