I'll be honest: I don't like the mini-reworks
We've had mini-reworks for Sona, Leona, Garen, and Shyv, right? For all 4 of these champs, only 1 of them have had their state in the game made generally better than it previously was.

Garen's issue is that he's simply "Out-dated Darius". No in-fight sustain like any other juggernaut and no real way to steamroll through a fight like Darius and Illaoi can, which is the "fantasy" of his class. His passive needs an overall and so does his W, honestly. Maybe even a new attack in that slot, but just something to give him in-fight healing and consistent presence in those fights instead of "a bit of defenses". He's "eh" to learn and shit to master, and the mini-rework didn't do shit about this.

Sona has issues being extremely squishy, yet forced to play extremely close to enemies because "
interaction is important to us here at Riot Games
". Because of how easy it is to use her kit (it's almost all auto-targeted), she's really strong in low elo because they haven't developed the skills to...you know...punish a trade, but because of how squishy she is and how conveniently exposed she is, she's pretty lousy in higher elos. Riot's answer? "Let's make this support champion even more dependent on levels and scalings than she already was, locking her entire potential away until level 16". Worst part is that I have to blame Sona players for this one, cause I saw too many people saying "I love that Sona URF shit I hope we can do that all the time that'd be SO FUN". Instead of fixing core issues that keep this champion 24/7 outshone by a fish and a yoga instructor, we get even more brainless game play as the game progresses. Sure thing, guys...sure. -_- -
Leona...I don't even get why they changed her. Like, what even happened? It's basically the same thing they did to Vel'Koz when they just shifted stuff and changed stuff that ultimately didn't change anything at all, which is the theme of the thread, but in Leona's case, it literally changed hardly anything. I don't get why they bothered to begin with.
Shyvanna's the only mini-rework that actually made the champ a decent bit better gameplay wise, and the main thing they did to do this was make her ult actually unstoppable like people were begging for for ages. They also incorporated her game play around controlling drags, which actually isn't that bad of a niche for her to have in the game. Suits her theme and it isn't taken yet. For the other three? Leona is just Leona, and I adamantly stand by the notion that Garen and Sona's kits need overhauls if we care enough for them to be in a truly healthy spot in the game for everyone involved.
