Why am I getting golds on my team and full plats on opposing team?

2 games in a row where my team has gold 3/4 players on it while I'm plat 4 with 50% win rate. The gold 3/4s also have 50% win rate, meaning their MMR cannot be significantly higher than their elo. The opposing team has all plat 3-5. When I look at their op.gg, their estimated MMR is gold 3/4. When I look at my op.gg, my estimated MMR is plat 3/4.

How does this even work? Why am I being forced to carry people 400 MMR below me? That's like asking silvers to carry b5's while the opposing team is all gold. 99% of silvers couldn't do it. Why should a plat be asked to do so?

EDIT: 3rd game in champ select I get paranoid and look ppl up. Sure enough I get a 50% win rate ADC in gold with another gold that troll picked support and refuses to swap when I ask. Dodged that shit instantly.

Your first game had a unranked on the enemy team to balance out with your golds and second game only had 2 golds that were one gold I and the other gold III while the highest was Plat IV on the opposing team. There's not exactly a huge gap.

In your first game the Varus had a gold I MMR the LeBlanc who raped you guys had a gold II MMR while being Platt 5 same with the Maokai with a gold I MMR. So yes they Plat rankings but they weren't actually at a Plat level.

I could dig into the second game as well but it's probably going to be the same thing.

54% win rate and being slightly lower MMR while having less than 100 games played this season is most definitely possible. I mean it's definitely never going to be 100% accurate but neither is your ranking. Mine had me at a Platt I MMR for quite a while when I kept staying at gold I level and just getting unlucky. I finally got past that and now have been rising to it quite rapidly.

This happens to people in every elo. That is why "elo hell" was created as a term to describe this situation when it happens to a player REGULARLY. And yet high ranked players who complain about having this in their games all the time and being held back from wins by 4 bonobo feeding teammates will claim not a single person in bronze, silver, gold (diamond - if they are plat or challenger or master) knows ANYTHING about the game and deserves to be where they are. Cuz yeah only (insert player's rank here) or higher can possibly understand anything about the game or be held back by regularly getting teammates who don't have the skill or intelligence to be in a game with them while all their opponents do. And posts like yours will do nothing about it but get you grief... trust me, I know from experience. The difference with your rank vs truly low elo/rank is that at your elo people still have some basic knowledge of macro play... while at low elo, someone stuck in a similar "elo hell" experience can know and shotcall exactly what to do to (what someone at your elo would call) and looks like an idiot for doing it because no one listens and they chase their tails losing objectives while the one guy making the correct call gets punished for doing the ONLY play that gives his/her team a chance to come back and win.

Ex: option to collapse on enemy 2 man split push too late to save tower and: trade tier 1 towers but lose drag (team chooses this option) or... option 2: listen to the jungler who is the whole reason your top and mid are fed (your bot still fed for no reason 2v2), tower dive mid inner to get tier 2 tower, up to 3 kills for prob 1 death, and get infernal drag. Which is the better call? Trading towers and losing infernal or grabbing INNER tower, maybe kill trade advantage as well, and getting drag? Pretty sure option 2 is way better, but you can't make your team realize this. And telling them later in chat when you have a chance to safely type just gets "reported" from your team. So be grateful you have more intelligent teammates than this even if they are worse than their opponents.

Because Riot has never cared about balancing teams well.
