Wow. that's just awful, sure hope for his sake that the rework helps him.

It might be because a lot of people are trying out the new Ryze and not really knowing how to use him just yet.

Is the new Ryze actually on live? I honestly don't know.

I think its just sad that people don't understand that he's not a initiator. He takes time to get a kill.

The rework is out. It came out this patch. He's arguably undertuned right now.

He's just not a bursty tank mage anymore. People need to know that he's essentially a new champion, he can no longer run ignite/exhaust because he doesn't have the burst he once did that facilitated that build. He's also no where near as good against AD champs now. Since FH can't be built in good conscience, Zhonya's is his best armor item now, which is in the back of the line build priority wise. On the plus side, his E is much more devastating to its initial target, and is far stronger when used in a cluster fuck. He's simply more situational, which isn't a bad thing. I always picked Ryze as my safe mage pick, since he didn't have many overbearing counters, and was allowed to build tank items without losing relevance in fights.

It's because everyone who played Ryze before is picking up almost a whole new champion trying to get used to the new mechanics.

not certain why this was downvoted, he's really not the same champion. He's very similar in theme and has 2 of the abilities the past ryze had, but this new ryze is more reliant on spam casting to deal damage, whereas old ryze had slightly slower casting, but must heavier burst.

no its because hes incapable of harassment in lane now and people are reluctant to build CDR on him because his ult gives him 30%. making his build just awful.

his targeted Q was a big thing for him, without that he cant trade and force people out and get ahead.

he should be technically stronger thanks to higher ap ratios, but people just haven't found the optimal build yet.

I'm not sure this is the whole story. He may have a slightly higher theoretical damage potential, but it is practically much, much harder to use that damage effectively now, particularly in a teamfight situation. The switch of the Q to a skillshot means that the majority of his damage can be bodyblocked, as opposed to the past where he could guarantee his damage would go onto the target he needed to kill. That's a huge hit to his power. It makes him a lot weaker, and that's a problem he's going to have no matter what kind of build people find for him.

Kind of like how Veigar is still garbagey with the cage rework and the Q is a wash on his laning ability.

Been out for two weeks, and has basically stayed at the same win% the whole time. He is worst in both top and mid lane. He went from a little under 50% in 5.7 to around 40% in 5.8. Hopefully he will get looked at for the patch after this coming one. I kind of wonder if they are waiting to see how the item 3001 rework effects him, since it is being worked into an item for "AP Bruisers" which seems like it describes him.

Yes, people have to get used to the rework, but his numbers haven't budged since he came out. He is undertuned and his itemization is confusing. He'll need another pass I think. He still does have pretty good late game power though.

Still to early to decide on his status.

Yet another week has gone by so how many more weeks does it need to be before we can make a decision?

Considering 5 days ago. And you respond now.

Jesus Christ.
