Ever since her last Q and E nerfs, Syndra's been a rare sight. Her stun is unreliable, and her early mana-to-damage ratio for her Q is absolutely awful. Granted, she needs to have worse early power to offset her powerful late-game, but at such a mana cost?
Would lowering her Q's mana cost a tad at all ranks break her? I don't think so. The last patch removing the +3 mana regen masteries kinda hurt for her.

They could revert the Q nerfs all together.
Neo Cyrus4 votesPrecisely, she need to be a lane bully to transition to a mid game. Then her mid game consisted of a lot of picks with E which no longer works. Her late game was always pretty shit compared to other options.

3TWarrior3 votesher mana cost isn't actually that bad considering at level 1 she can cast her Q 10x for poke harrass and by level 3 can secure a kill. she also has one of the best last-hitting mechanisms in the game. use that last hit to damage their in range self XD

darkdill3 votesBecause if you aren't firing spells pretty continuously at minion waves, manaless Champions are going to outfarm and outpush you. Zed and Katarina are pretty nasty at pushing, so you have to either push back or hit them a lot to get them to back off. Unfortunately, they'll try to drag out a long fight if possible, and will thus cause you to manaburn even if you have a Chalice or double Doran's Ring.
It's especially bad with Lux, but I'm sure you've already seen my topics on that.

I've played every mage mid, top, support, jungle and in place of an adc, didn't have mana problems. You can also get 2 doran's if you can't manage mana and basically never go oom as long as you properly last hit. You also don't need to spam abilities constantly to last hit, you can just AA them all until they are low and use a single ability. Mana costs are only a problem with a combination of poor use and missing constantly.

Zed using energy is not an excuse, because you're not laning against Zed every game to begin with. He loses to a lot of mages/champions who use mana. If you were always against him, the logical thing to do is learning to play the mages that beat him anyways. Not every champion will do well in all situations, the few who do are champions people don't enjoy playing against.

Thought this was about Syndra/mana in general? The best mid laners are those who use Mana, Ahri for example. Lux isn't even one of the mages who lose to Zed, she wins slightly more than half. Zed is actually a terrible soloq champion as you're more likely to win your game against him, he is simply not fun to deal with. The game isn't just about lane phase, there's a reason why a lot of mages win vs Zed, they simply destroy him when it really matters.

Neo Cyrus3 votesLol someone downvoted every post. Yeah her Q does fuckall for damage at early levels now so its not worth its own mana cost (especially after the latest mana nerfs) and her E no longer works 80% of the time.

The nerf was incredibly stupid. 50 damage on a rank 1 ability with no other effects or way to increase that damage is unheard of. The only abilities that have lower base damage than Syndra's Q at rank 1 are abilities with base AD ratios.
Even most utility abilities heavily out damage Syndra's main damage ability. Just to put into perspective how low 50 damage is it's how much damage Trist's explosive shot deals if she doesn't AA her target after the mark.
