Why was Dervish Blade removed?

I was going through the "insert an item icon" feature on the boards and noticed there is an item called "Dervish Blade" there.

I seemingly cannot find it on any of the maps in the game, neither SR, TT, or ARAM.

It seems like a cool item and it gave another thing to build out of Quicksilver Sash.

So I'm just wondering, why was it removed?

Has Riot given an official statement as to why?
