So can tanks have some items that are actualy usefull?
Here is the thing: tank items give you defensive stats, but items that give you defensive passives are very rare. Compared to how many items give you offensive stats+ offensive passive. Here is an example:
In response to tanks building armor, an AD champion can build
and make 45% of all the armor the tank builded in order to counter them useless. They also get a cool passive that can invalidate healings or make them deal even more damage to said tanks.
What do tanks have to counter those said AD champions? Well... Armor... That gets shreded by the omnipresent armor penetration in the game. Usualy they could build a
who has a mere 10% reduction against crit, but considering most ADCs build armor pen over crit these days, it's not very usefull.
But you know whats even worse? The best defensive passive/actives are actualy on OFFENSIVE ITEMS???
can avoid the totality of damage dealt to you for a period of time
Gives you a shield that can negate burst from AP champions
12% damage reduction against the last enemy you attacked
steals magic resist from your enemy to give it to yourself
gives you time to heal and reduce burst
And the only defensive item that have defensive passives/actives are the following:

BUT! If you want to be an offensive tank there is plenty of items for that.

So basicaly, offensive champions have plenty of items that covers their flaws but also items to incapacitate enemies that counter them, while tanks have some items with ok active/passive and a lot of items to counter the fact that they dont deal a lot of damage (damaging auras, empowered AA, etc)... Why can't we have items with stats as rewarding as 45% armor pen to counter damage dealers?
Tanks should be about tanking. I want tanks with enormous health pools, tanks that deal close to no damage but who can CC the shit out of you and survive the biggest bursts and assaults. Tanks that dont lose 1/3 of their health from 3 spells+ thunderlord. Tanks who won't die because they are in the range of an adc for more than 3 seconds. Can we please have that?
