Thoughts immobile melee not bringing enough to the table to justify their existence?

How do you feel about the current state of immobile melee champs?

The likes of Irelia, Jax and Camille offer a similar package in terms of durability and damage, while also possesing varying degrees of burst mobility.

immobile melees' only real struggle is that the current meta is very mage/ranged-dominant

let soloQ shuffle back towards tanks and you'll be back to complaining about how unfair Illaoi and Darius are

do you mean nasus? yeah they r shit right now lol. how are they suppsoed to lane against aatrox and akali

Cause nasus E is an outdated ability that either carries you or does absolutely nothing depending on the matchup.

In this case it does absolutely nothing :c

I think in general most of the commonly thought of bruiser champions and even some tanks are really struggling unless they bring lots of hard cc to the team. Champions like the ones you mentioned do just as much damage, are significantly safer, and have hard cc. Its a hard life for many on the Rift

to riot immobile melees should nullify defense

ie: darius nasus that's the point of their existence again to riot

Although admittedly, a good darius can do a lot more true damage than all of them if he gets multiple ults off.

And darius is just really good at stacking black cleaver...

and darius e passive.

getting multiple ults off usually doesnt have to do with the darius being good but rather with the enemy team being bad enough to let you walk up to them and get your passive off

If the Meta were to go back to Tank-favorable, Fighters/Immobile Melee champs will be back in the spotlight, along with ADCs, because of the two classes sustained damage being better at wearing Tanks down than Bursty ones. That's of course, in an IDEAL meta, and truthfully, there can never be an actually ideal meta.

Garen Darius They do a truckload of damage if they can stay in range. They also have very easy build-pathing since they can rush cleaver then just build defensively without sacrificing anything.

Trundle DrMundo The immobile melees that don't benefit from rushing Cleaver are the ones that are struggling the most. They have to build mostly tank items and generally don't deal enough damage to justify their lack of mobility. They get bursted down early game by assassins and mages and melt late game to carries, so stacking all that defense is pretty much meaningless. More often than not, they just flail around failing to do anything to the mobile opposition and then just die. Despite this, it seems like Riot is harder on these particular champions than anyone else when it comes to balancing.
