I'm pretty excited for the Sona changes, actually

I really thought they were going to be awful at first, but she's honest to god looking like a real, solid support. She has options now! She can build healer builds, traditional support builds, AP builds (although a bit of a tossup like before)

It's really great to see some love being put into her kit after so many nerfs and bad decisions with good intentions being thrown around all these past seasons. Her heal will feel good, her shield will feel good while still being an opportunistic and split-second-heat-of-the-moment action, her poke will be less irritating while her usage of powerchords will be more important, and her Crescendo's ranking will be ultimately (pun intended) more important since it supplies more damage and more CDR on her abilities.

The only hitch I see is her E. Its a bit... unintuitive, but also fair? The speed boost from hitting an enemy is good, but it means that you DO have to hit an enemy to escape or chase. It makes sense on paper, but I'm unsure how it will function in practice. Other than that, I think she's well on her way to being a great support again! Thank you Riot for proving the boards wrong this time that you only want to nerf her. I for one, as a person who plays way too much Sona, can't wait to see the turnout. Sona

Honestly, I'm not.

Initially, all of it was a bad idea. Then the E change was alright. Then they changed itemization and that's making her stronger too. Now they're straight buffing her, probs cause they don't want her to be weak when she rolls out in 6.14 after all this time.

All of this is being done the same way they did the juggernauts. They go about patching bells and whistles when the issue is in the core, not the extremities. Sona's not in a position like Janna or Thresh, where they may be strong or not, but they aren't toxic to overall game health. Sona's in a position where making her strong is going to be straight obnoxious because there's no room for counter-play outside of "ice her during the early game", much like Xin Zhao, Kayle, Garen, Nunu, and other comparable champs. She's not in a position where she can finally not be that Bronzie-Buster she's been before now. She's just in a position to be a bigger one if lane went well, and even more useless if it didn't.

Like what type of support-only champ needs RATIO BUFFS? They're doing all this without addressing the core issues of why Sona's been a problem champ to begin with. That's my issue. I don't want random buffs and I don't want nerfs (for sure). I want a real solution to the actual problem.
