In my experience games are longer than ever...

Riot, you keep making more and more and more snowball in the game. Higher damage creep, less tankiness, shitty towers, tower first blood, dragon advantages, and on and on. Yet from my experience games went from 20-30 minutes in Season 2, to 40-60 minutes in Season 6. Have you ever thought making the game a crushing miserable stomp for one side, only gives them initiative to drag the game out as long as possible?

Every game I am on the losing team somebody says the same thing. "We are losing, just stall out till 40 minutes so the items even out." (And often we do come back and win). This was never a problem in S2 unless your team had a hyper carry, which you supposedly removed those from the game. In S2 it was actually easier to close out games, but less miserable to be on the losing team. I'm not saying the game as a whole was in a better state back then, but at least on this front, I find the overall strategy of how games play out to be long, tedious and repetitive.

Winning side typically gets an advantage because of a lane matchup or an OP jungler. Takes objectives and dragons to snowball way ahead. Then either groups mid for the ace and win or uses split push tactics if they lack team fighting. Until they can get some picks/ace and either get baron then push or push for win.

Losing side typically is frustrated beyond belief and often feels cheated out of an early advantage because their laners were counter picked and the enemy jungler is Elise. Resulting in them deciding to stall the game out with defensive tactics as long as humanly possible until the gold gap narrows and they can try to turn the game.

This is like, every single game I play. Usually resulting in a 40+ minute slugfest.

Now this is all speaking from personal experience but... I don't know what else to speak from when it comes to how the game feels. It's bad enough players spend 90% of all fights slowed by 40%+ movement speed(fake and exaggerated stats) making the game feel slow motion. But when it drags out for nearly an hour or even over an hour. It just feels bad...

Actually, since last season it has gone down ~2 minutes.

Look it up!

...I could have sworn people were complaining about games being too short 3 months ago.

I think it's an ELO thing. I'm down near Bronze and my matches are usually about 25-30 minutes, with the winning team established by the 15m mark.

Average game length per ELO only changes by 5 minutes between bronze and challenger. That isn't much.

It could be due to the end of the season and people are trying to rank up rather than FF@20.

This is more gradual than that. I have noticed game length slowly increase over the years as Riot has tried to make snowball higher and damage higher. Because people are playing more and more passive and stalling games out longer.

I must be playing the exact opposite game as you because i notice the opposite games getting shorter because snowball and damage is higher so as soon as the person on the enemy team gets 1 kill they bully their coutner parts out of lane or keep killing them and the team just cries that they have feeders and ff@20 even if they are ahead in another lane or if one one of their allies are

or it could be that people who usually do ff@ 20 are playing and still doing so hence why my giames cant get in a good fight and no one knows how to stall a game when they are looseing

I've got to ask.. How are you losing 30 LP in a game? I've never lost more than 21, and on average I lose 15-18

if games are 50% likely to be win or loss if 50% of your time is potentially wasted why even play. I dont consider losses a waste of time as my objective is to play the game whether im winning or loseing it CAN be enjoyable what bugs me is in a game where things are supposed to be shifting and you are supposed to make active decisions that influence your build path and how you play riot nerfs everything that isnt in one style of play for what ever champion everyone builds the same thing in every situation for the champion. everyone has to group farm till 20 and group mid and fight afterward and anything that doesnt do this or isnt good at doing it is kept out of the meta and anything that can do anything other than that is nerfed and taken out of the meta. and wow 30lp loss i would tell you what that looks like but my experience with this community is that most people are easily offended panties and i dont want to get in an argument war right now

My games have been hit or miss on times. Either it's a 20 minute stomp of one team or it's a 50 minute clown fiesta that goes from nexus to nexus until someone eventually wins 2 fights in a row.

I pick Assassin junglers, if the game goes past 25 minutes I have an extreme chance of losing. So, I instead opt to massacre the enemy and tilt them through the sheer OP'ness called vision warding and ganking.

Lower elo players don't know how to close out games, so the games just tend to go waaay longer than they should. Checking one of my higher elo friend's games, the game ended at 28 min simply from one fed character. Every lane winning would practically be an 18-20 min. game.

We don't exactly play the same champions over and over with the same kits, do we? Given the situation with how snowballing works, only one-tricks really perform linearly with their progress. The games reflect that directly based on what that champion then brings. You can see fed Irelia's shut down games. Kha'Zix is known for doing the same, as well as Riven.

It's not like games being longer is a bad thing either, it's just complaining that you have no time. Some champions only really shine mid/late game, and games being shorter would shut them out like S5 pre-season did. Remember those 16 minute smashfests? I do, and I'm not going back.

Thats jsut bad players who dont know how to use their strength and they play the same as they do in all situations whether ahead or behind since you obvoiusly cant push and end when you are behind usually they end up just farming until later when they are ahead as if they were behind. I uused to get lots of 40-60 minute games in previous season now most of my games end under 25 minutes because either my team or the enemy is surrendering i get a 60 minute game once every 5 days -2 weeks

no clue what you're talking about

it's been since the minion changes that the game has ended in less than 30 min

i play every game with malicious metal+tidal tyrant, they can witness that every games are either stomp or being stomped. Everytime we win in 20/30 min, or we lose because the enemies picked syndra/cass/kennen or some op champs. a game that isn't like this is extremely rare

by rare, i mean 1 every month, it was a game where our nexus has 10 hp and we managed to keep it up and win against a fed yi because we had a kha'zix that could one-shot him.
