mages still seem underpowered
tbh mages still seem underpowered compared to literally any other melee class.

Riot has been nerfing mages a lot over multiple seasons while buffing other roles at the same time. Wont be surprised they feel weak.
Despite mages being meta for EVERY season of League. Mages are just fine, you just need to play them properly.

Perhaps he said it wrong, but it has been a while since Mages in general were strong. I dont think he is including specific midlaners, though I dont think Mages are good in this pre season.

They'll be good again once the dust settles and people stick to meta instead of playing non-competitive comps.
Mages like Lux feels useful. Like a secondary support in the team which isn't bad.
i would agree to that.
Its a weird feeling to be forced to play a different style of champ as the ap caster branch is not equally empowered.
One of the things i liked about lol was the possibility to try out and find "your" kind of champ amongst a large variety.
This boon was severly hampered with the ongoing balancing issues.
Well going from general to specific.lux is neither a real ap mid nor a good sup imho. just look at the guides of her for last season..check the matchup segment and count the favorable and unfavorable macthups..my guess its 30% to 70 % quota. she doesnt really work in neither role. I know lux very very well.
Riot wanted a "multi faced" (so they watch GOT too!) mage which is fun to play but falls off in so many matchups.
Mages are weak, thats why zed is at 50%, yasuo at 46% while the top 10 wr for mid lane has 10 mages in it.
Because mages are awful and ad mids are OP!

Mages have the top 10 win rates because its generally the lane where all the mages go, there is only like 3 main AD mid laners
and some what
and then occasionally
. Personally, I'm not to sure how I feel about the mages state.
I feel they're borderline OK state, they're great against other mages and at an OK state against fighters/ADCs imo but really weak against Assassins. Yes I know that Assassins are supposed to counter mages but some times I feel they do so a little bit to much right now.
rexxiee may have apoint by bringing up the mentioned numbers i know myself.
then again these numbers only occur in a certain enviroment. where only certain champs are played midlane. How oftern did u see lux in a game above platinum tier?
So yes ad mid is can be challenging too..but onyl vs the type of champs that are played in higher elo. There is a reason why some champs are NOT played in higher elo.
Generally speaking the most succesfull champs are either adc or high mobility..not a mage in sight int he top 10

i correct that: most succesfull overall jungler toplaner or support. one poor ap midlaner made it to top 10 winrate.
How?
