Is there really even a point to mages anymore?

As someone that ONLY enjoys playing mages. I've been absolutely MISERABLE the past few months. I'm honestly thinking of just quitting league all together because mage's aren't even fun to play anymore. I obviously main Zyra, and she's such a fucking joke right now it's embarrassing. Her plants are one shot -- it's laughable.

And now we have tanks going mid lane that are dealing more damage than a tank should EVER deal.

My last game was absolutely MISERABLE. I mid laned against a Sion mid who's e was hitting me for 1/4 my health, he went full MR + banner of command. I was completely helpless even with magic pen.

Riot get rid of or nerf banner of command, nerf tanks damage - something. This game is NOT fun to play as a mage anymore.

I don't think it's that bad but we're stuck between the mage changes and the upcoming adc changes - not a good place to be

the point of a mage is to prevent the tank from buying all armor items vs the ADC

The point of a mage is to provide burst while still being decently safe, and while being useful if they fall behind.

Compare this to an assassin, who has far higher burst, but is all but useless from behind, and puts themselves in the most danger to do so.

would be nice if that was the case but 1 magic item can nulify mages enough to where they're not a big enough threath anymore where as 1 armor item doesn't do shit vs ADC's, this can be seen even more in ARAM

Because mages are burst, and ADCs are DPS.

If you have just enough MR to survive a mage's burst, they can't kill you.

If you survive 10 autos from an ADC, they can just auto again. Autos don't have a cooldown.

Honestly, people rarely buy Banner of Command anyway so I wouldn't want that to be nerfed.

Tanks damage should be nerfed however,

They were created to take as much damage as a real life tank.

Not deal as much damage as a real life tank.

I feel for you. Mages are in the shitter right now. With no real good keystones, Ultimate Hat being moved to Domination and AD characters getting all the fun itemization, mages suffer. But I'm afraid there's not much we can do.

Oh and where's that cute signature I saw on one of your other posts? It looked really cool.

Every fucking sion i was agaisnt in those like... 30 or so days had banner as his first item. Today even Thresh on my team had it. Its definitely not that rare of an item but i would not want it nerfed as well (even though i play mostly mages as well)

Zyra is just ass right now, not mages as a whole. Like, I get I'm biased because I've tunneled into only Swain for awhile, and I do not feel like he's weak....but he cannot be the only mage that's doing fine.
