Is there really even a point to mages anymore?

As someone that ONLY enjoys playing mages. I've been absolutely MISERABLE the past few months. I'm honestly thinking of just quitting league all together because mage's aren't even fun to play anymore. I obviously main Zyra, and she's such a fucking joke right now it's embarrassing. Her plants are one shot -- it's laughable.

And now we have tanks going mid lane that are dealing more damage than a tank should EVER deal.

My last game was absolutely MISERABLE. I mid laned against a Sion mid who's e was hitting me for 1/4 my health, he went full MR + banner of command. I was completely helpless even with magic pen.

Riot get rid of or nerf banner of command, nerf tanks damage - something. This game is NOT fun to play as a mage anymore.

You linked one game that showed you on one of the shittiest mages right now (Malzahar), and you still went 5/6.

the point of a mage is to prevent the tank from buying all armor items vs the ADC

genuinely agree to this, its all CC and tanks now. if you play a mage, your genuinely playing to lose the game.

Honestly, people rarely buy Banner of Command anyway so I wouldn't want that to be nerfed.

Tanks damage should be nerfed however,

They were created to take as much damage as a real life tank.

Not deal as much damage as a real life tank.

I feel for you. Mages are in the shitter right now. With no real good keystones, Ultimate Hat being moved to Domination and AD characters getting all the fun itemization, mages suffer. But I'm afraid there's not much we can do.

Zyra is just ass right now, not mages as a whole. Like, I get I'm biased because I've tunneled into only Swain for awhile, and I do not feel like he's weak....but he cannot be the only mage that's doing fine.
