The sides Agree and Disagree are on were swapped for the filling questions on the survey

"Are you familiar with the new fill feature Riot Games put on ranked where we will put you in whatever role we can if your queue time is too long?"

I honestly can't believe that just for the questions about filling, Riot would switch the sides agree and disagree are on to try and trick people into saying they strongly agree with the new "forced fill" they put on live for ranked. That's low.

I think you guys are over-anaylzing a simple mistake, I mean jesus, is this how far you'll go to think Rito is trying to trick people? Its honestly your fault for not reading it.

I have no evidence, but I'm pretty sure my last survey (for upcoming champion reworks) followed the same format.

It's not a mistake if everything on all of their other surveys has disagree to the left and agree to the right.

Urgh, do we really need to do this? mis·take məˈstāk/Submit noun 1. an action or judgment that is misguided or wrong.

I mean, they may be a big company but theres a good chance this was a small slip up on their part. Stop trying to pull things out of your bum to make controversy. This thread is basically like the news. OH MY GOD, THIS COMPANY COULDNT POSSIBLY MAKE MISTAKES, OBVIOUSLY THIS MUST BE WHAT THEY WERE TRYING TO DO.

Stop. This is a YOUR FAULT situation. Do you remember when you got a test back and your teacher was like: "Read the questions carefully.", thats a thing you should apply to everything. Its your fault for not looking at the options and then assuming that the options being on opposite sides was something you were never warned about. You're also overthinking things and its causing a problem. Dont do this shit, not everything has an anterior motive, sometimes it just a mistake.

Edit: I'm viewing this thread in a way of, I made the mistake of picking the wrong option because the options were flipped

Riot intentionally trying to skew data by assuming (and being correct because all their surveys have been disagree left agree right so you don't really pay attention anymore because it's just common), is not a mistake.

OK guy with the sociology degree here. My job is to make surveys like these. We actually switch sides of agree/disagree like this in surveys all the time. The reasoning is to protect from individuals afk filling out agree for all answers thus skewing the data. It forces people to pay attention to the questions and answers thus making your sample more reliable. Hope this helps :D

What you're ignoring is the fact that for every other survey (and all questions from this survey), Riot has always put Agree on the right, and Disagree on the left. It's only here during the fill questions that they switched sides. This makes it extremely different from normal surveys swapping it out every couple of questions.

Sorry I am responding so late, I just saw this notification! I can understand why you say that. But I would argue it is VASTLY more important to make sure there is a switch on important questions to make sure people are paying attention. Look am I sure they are doing it with statistical validity in mind? No, I have no clue. But all the outrage of "RIOT IS TRICKING US F THEM!!!!" is also wrong cause, as I pointed out, this could be a normal check to do in survey making. Just a thought :)

That's a good point. However, in defense of the OP, riot could have switched sides on a less loaded question.

I think it shows there is a developer or group of developers that is sour about people not liking there idea or theme.

Then stop being a child and play a different game. Do you know how annoying it is to the millions of people trying to enjoy themselves to see people raging spamming every corner of any chat? Ever been out with friends then some angry miserable fuck shows up and ruins the whole vibe? Thats what yall are doing. Theyre clearly trying, stop doing mental gymnastics to justify your hate narrative BS, and take action instead of whining on the internet.

It's either the survey writers are done and edited by multiple people so shit becomes incosistent, or that.

on the otherhand people have likely been complaining about the way riot has done past surveys

and its not like you didn't notice. If you hate it enough you will read what you are doing

It'd be really funny if the sole reason riot thought that DQ was viewed in a positive light is because people weren't reading the agree/disagree part.

What survey, just wondering?

Riot frequently sends out random surveys to the emails of players I've gotten a couple on occasion

What's the big deal? The format shouldn't matter if you're reading the questions and options correctly.

I'm pretty sure there's no defined standard to whether agree should appear on the left or right. "strongly agree; somewhat agree..." matches the example survey used here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Likert_scale It might even be randomized to ensure that survey takers who just click the left button because it's closest to the question aren't skewing the results in a certain direction.

I just cant wrap my head around the concept that any one who is not illiterate would be unable to correctly answer this survey. I'm at a real loss as how this could be considered a trick and truly doubt it would accomplish any noticeable changes in the poll results... I honestly can not see it.
