You need to fix Rammus. The fact that he can stack armor and completely out trade a top laner while taking absolutely no damage is completely pathetic. He is a tank. He's not a carry.

Fix it.

Let me analyze your game, since I found it on LoLKing.

You were playing someone Rammus counters hard.
You fed him because you built glass cannon anyway.
Rammus took that gold you fed him and built tons of AoE damage items.
Rammus carried the game because of all his gear.

Sounds about normal to me. Even tanks can be dangerous if they get a huge lead.

After reviewing the match, I concur with your statements. Additionally, it reinforced what my theory on Rammus building AOE damage items earlier as the source of his damage.

Although building Life Steal items is generally a good idea against Rammus, in this case, OP should have gone with MR and Armor. Rammus was so fed obtained a collection of high tier items early on, which was able to substitute for his mediocre base AD.

The above is only true before level 6. Rammus only scales 25% of his armor as AD, and the majority of it comes from his W at early levels. Additionally, he has no sustain.

Rammus's damage is laughably low mid to late game. if you are having problems with him, play passively for the first two levels, get some life steal, and out trade Rammus once you outscale his W.

You must not play league then because lately i have seen rammus' carry almost every game they're in. Early, mid, and late game. Riot needs to find a holy trinity in their game like every other game in existence.

Are you sure that 3/4 of that damage isn't from tremors, sunfire cape, thorn mail, and curl ball?

I did not say that Rammus isn't capable of decent damage; at level 1, his W is both an AD and Armor steroid. However, since he only scales 1/4 of his armor, at max 400 armor(cap), he will have 100 bonus AD.

There is no way Rammus can do 400 damage per second with his AAs alone, unless he builds damage.

Solution: Don't pick AD into Rammus. Swap with your Mid/Jungle if you have to. If you're AD, at least one of them should be AP.

Well if he picks after you theres not much you can do. And actually we have done that, and he still does the same thing. Remember when he taunts you, AP doesn't matter and in the time your taunted he can get you low enough to where you need to run and again when you're running, ap doesn't matter.

He's going to taunt you, it's what he does. If the damage he's doing it that severe, get some MR.

Play someone mobile that can get away from him when he approaches you, or someone with a knockback, or someone that can produce/move units on him mid-powerball.

I am pretty sure AP counters Rammus, since if he doesn't stack armor he becomes quickly obsolete.

His taunt is melee ranged: evade him when he approach, and hide behind minions or under tower if he powerballs.

I occasionally play Rammus jungle, and besides from his W, he has no MR. I cannot possibly imagine any AP losing to Rammus, because if he stacked MR, he can't do damage, and if he stacked armor, he has no MR.

Not really. The damage from his ultimate is a much higher percentage of his damage than his W or autoattack damage, and his taunt is just as horrible for AP champions as for AD champions. Additionally, 120 MR is actually significantly better than 120 armor because MR is so much harder to stack. He can just pick up some health and tank out the AP champions easily (Rammus always needs health no matter what because he has high resistances and ashitty base health). Hell, if you don't need armor, you can just get some AP and abuse the high AP ratio on the ult.

The idea that Rammus is countered by AP is one of the myths keeping the glorious Rammus master race on top.

Also, he built fully tank not a single damage item really.

I think you've got a problem there chief. It's called "How to counter rammus" Here's your first step, don't pick melee against Rammus.

If it's normals, deal with it. If it's ranked, c'mon.

A good counter to rammus is teemo, you gotta make sure not to get Powerballed but the same could be said for any matchup. Overall, the early advantage into late should be in teemo's favor. Don't bother leveling w until later, take ghost instead of flash and everything gets simpler. If he's too low to engage, he's too low to taunt.

The above catchline can also be applied if you DO end up running melee against rammus. Harass with whatever ranged skills you've got and take advantage of that. Be aware the jungler will most likely rape you. If rammus is edging towards your minions, it's most likely because his jungler is right behind you. Take advantage of visual queues and back off.

There's tons of stuff here that can help you out against rammus, he's not a difficult top laner to beat out.

Not to mention Riven is super snowbally. If you play her often you should know that if she gets shut down early that she will fall off. You should have asked to lane swap mid.
