Hello, some of you know me. A relentless Aatrox player who is probably not very good at league in general. But I do know Aatrox.

Let me preface this. Aatrox fights in a world where everyone has near guaranteed escapes from fights---yi, malph and mundo can ult away. Lee sin can kick you and then get away. Riven and Yasou can infinitely dash making them very hard to chase. Poppy can ult you away. Garen can get a speed boost and run away quite well.

When Aatrox ults, it offers no mechanism to act as an escape. That helps define him as an all-in champ, for better or worse.

Given the mobility that so many champions have, and the long cool downs on Aatrox's abilities, this can be very frustrating as he is nothing without his auto attacks.

Furthermore, the only escape Aatrox has, which is is dive, is literally interrupted by everything, and it stops him dead in his tracks when it happens. Its very annoying to dive away, only to have some champion smash the ground and then for some reason, while you are in mid air, you get knocked back down.

Aatrox's problem is not about poor stats or scaling---its a result of how unevenly distributed crowd control and mobility is distributed among champions, and Riots lack of understanding how powerful those things are in relationship to other factors.

Aatrox changes should be something along these lines:

1)Blood Price--in addition to bonus damage, every hit with blood price on an enemy champion should reduce remove 1 second of cool down on his abilities currently on cool down. In addition, the Blood Price strike should get a 175 bonus range, same as his ult.

2)Passive Revive eliminated. Instead, as his blood well fills up, he gains passive resistances and tenacity in addition to the attack speed he already gets from it. At full blood well, nearby allied champions gain 50% of those bonuses resistances (not the attack speed...probably)

3)When Aatrox ults, allied champions gain 100 percent of passive resistances regardless of how full bloodwell is. In addition, Aatrox's ult resets any abilities on cooldown.

This is reasonable. He doesn't get 2 lives anymore. Instead that is transferred to increased resistances and a passive and ult that is consistent with his lore. It is also unique, and makes him more valuable in team fights. And since he has no revive, he now has the ability to escape after an ult. His W now helps him chase, as he can reduce the cool downs and maybe get off that last final hit with the extra range.

Please, please don't comment if you think Aatrox is fine just because you see him win sometimes. Or you say a diamond match on Youtube and therefore he is viable. All things being equal he is not, and those player didn't get to diamond by being an Aatrox main I can promise you that.

Aatrox is fun, but yes he needs tons of love. I'm not sure if taking away his revive is the best course of action but it would be interesting to say the least. Having his revive is similar to having a GA where enemy just sits there waiting and then kill you when you pop up. Especially since it doesn't bring you to full hp like Anivia Egg does.

Swapping the increased resistances for his revive would be great, Trox always feels really squishy especially since you need to be building attack speed for your life steal mechanics, and everyone is so bursty it's sometimes hard to life steal out of it.

Having where Blood Price lowers cooldowns every auto could be a bit much unless you increase his cooldowns by a few seconds.

All in all, I like your ideas, Aatrox is a champ I loved when he came out then slowly stopped playing him when he got worse and worse.

P.S. would you change Blood Thirst at all? (healing portion of W)

EDIT: I know Aatrox entire chase mechanic is based around slowing with E and jumping on them with Q, but yea, the cooldowns currently feel a bit much.
