i think cull should be buffed

this item is beyond useless. i almost don't see it in my games.

possible buffs:

  • increase passive gold
  • increase life on hit
  • add a little defensive stat.

And it shouldn’t be in most games.

Its a small stat check which completely refunds it’s investment, and then you get to sell it. As soon as you give it an advantage in lane over the 3 starting items PLUS a complete gold refund, you completely gut those 3 items.

no, it earns you a profit of 180 gold including the sell

however i do agree it shouldn't be in most games. but it shouldn't also be in none. the main problem is that other items gives way more kill pressure against a cull than a cull gives survivability. so people rather try and get a 300 gold from a kill other than playing it safe for 15 minutes to get 180 gold

Yes that’s what I said, what are you arguing about?

Usually arguments require objections or contradictory sides.

i think you edited it since i remember it saying that it gives you the value of 3 starting items.

however. i'm not suggesting to buff it's damage and make it busted. all i said is make the time investment and safe playstyle worth it.

as it stands now you get almost no gold lead and also can do nothing for the first 4 mins since other items are waay stronger than it

UNIQUE: Killing a minion grants 1 gold, up to a maximum of 100 Gold. After having killed 100 minions, grants an additional +350 and permanently disables this passive.

350 + 180(selling prce) - 350(it's own price) = 180 quick maths

only correction i'd make is it costs 450g. it gives 100g (1g per minion) + 350g (100 minion passive). so it still only nets you 180g plus some on hit and life but..

You need to recheck your quick maths. You missed something. 2 things actually.

those two things negate themselves. It still nets 180g.

3 lifesteal on hit looks measly but obviously exceeds the lifesteal of Doran’s blade until users reach 100 damage.

7 attack damage ~ 8 attack damage

Most champions won’t reach flat 100 damage in lane until their first damage item purchase.

Ergo cull exceeds sustain over Doran’s blade in most cases

What you’re sacrificing is 80 hp health in favour of 350 gold accrued slowly over the next 15 minutes.

That’s the trade you choose. Early strength or later strength. It’s all about your time valuation. But it should be moderately weaker than starting items.

early strength or later 3 potions*

in order to get 80 hp back, you need to hit about 25 times which if you always attack, it's gonna happen in half a minute, giving you an effective 1hp/sec making a single 150 rejuvination band more viable. which i don't think you will ahve the time to heal from an early all in.

also, most champions are able to hit 100 ad at level 4. but the point is that it offers little to no survivability in lane. 3 hp on hit is close to nothing. it's only meaningfull in very early levels(1-2). then a singe basic will need to make you hit 15 hits to get that juicy health back. and let's not talk about skill rotations. on the other hand doran's blade gives almost the same amound of lifesteal PLUS 80 health which is very viable in early levels. almost negating the entire damage of an early ignite.

it is better to get more srvivability in lane and a possible 300 gold from a kill other than 180 gold 15 minutes in

Buddy it’s not like I’m telling you that 80 hp loss is a good idea. I’m not suggesting you take cull.

But the stats are fine. And buffing them defeats the trade off of taking cull. In prior seasons where champs could more easily survive trades and early game all ins, cull was a more popular item. This season it’s not, because it’s much easier to kill your opponent for the 300 gold than it is to farm safely.
