So I was wondering, is playing off meta even allowed anymore? 'Cause I've read on like Reddit, Gamefaqs, and so forth that people get reported and punished for stuff like Malphite mid into Talon because they don't have any mid laner to deal with Talon.

I played Trundle support earlier today and my team was very ok with it. I actually got props for the high level of peel I provided for my ADC.... the other day I saw a Wukong support that was also lauded as being very solid. The thing is; I checked with my teammates to see if it was cool rather than just going "FUK U I WILL PLAY WUT I WANT TO PLAY" , do you understand the difference?
I even picked Garen support before a game was re-made and my team was alright with it during picks. It's called.... wait for it.... COMMUNICATION.

I communicate but I still get threatened for reports, like once I did Veigar APC (bot), my team flipped, even though I said, "I don't have an ADC to deal with Cait"

I've played malph mid, ad malph, even onhit malph, never got reported or even flamed.
Pusheenosaurus1 votesYou'll always encounter kiddies that'll rage quit if u choose an off-meta pick regardless if u mention it during champ select chat. Personally, I have no problems w/ the team flaming me or rage quitting for an off - meta pick whenever I play norms draft, cuz its norms and ppl wont care cuz it isnt ranked (unless you're on b5 lol). I once did yi support and my buddy went akali adc vs a varus/blitz and we shit on 'em xD. [slayer-jinx-catface]
