Teammate buff theft prevention

During my last game as a jungle, i had one of the most infuriating experiences ever... that was Mid chogath just stole buffs whenever he damn well pleased, even when i was there. it started with the second blue. i told him not to touch it, and he stole it anyway.

this is not the only time this has happened twitch poison on first clear, teemo poison, or a teammate who doesnt care that they're putting their jg behindd. it's infuriating that there are so many laners who I can't outsmite.

Cho is a prime example. By second blue, I'm level 5 my smite deals somewhere around 500 dmg. cho's bite killed the buff at 900 health, and there was nothing i could do about it. this needs to change.

why not this addition to all smite items

Unique aura: AOE Buff protection if an ally would take a Neutral monster on your side of the map while you're facing it, and are within 350 units in range of it, you get the kill.

Promblem solved. now if you tell somebody to back off and they dont listen just stand in front of the buff. this means to let them take it you have to walk back from the buff. If Riot wants the jungler to be in control of their gold (hence the smite item Gold increases) then this also makes sense.

why wouldnt you give cho mid blue? i woulda took it too

Genuwhine3 votes

he doesnt need it more beneficial on a champion that will actually be roaming like the jungler unelss he just farms then its acceptable to give otherwise there is no need

That sucks, but I've never had that problem. Except that one time we don't speak of. Though I tend to give my 2nd blue anyway unless I'm mana reliant like amumu.

I've never had this problem as a jungler. teemo/twitch poisons r easy to outsmite but i've never had a cho do that to me. Let alone i usually give my buff out anyway because i play usually rengar.

Edit: i DID NOT disagree with what he said i just simply said it never really happens to me nor do i do it to other people (being a mid main) so don't see the downvote reasoning?

Xin Zhao is fairly mana heavy, he needs all of his abilities to quickly clear so he can gank lanes.... if somebody like cho who can easily out smite you just by existing steals it, it means i run oom more often. ganks slow down, lanes slow down. i lose gold taking more time to clear.

in lower Elo's people simply dont give a fuck. they will steal it, and midlaners in general are super entitled to a buff that isnt even theirs. case and point? after cho took my blue i went to his lane and took 6 minions to cover the cost. he got mad at me for it.

So after i told this shitstain not to touch my buff explicitly in chat, he steals it then gets mad when i need to cover the cost.

ive seen this happen in higher elo's as well.

Sky i believe is gold-plat same shit, different ELo, and if its somebody like a chogath, or kalista then god help you.

as for outsmiting teemo and twitch, that wont work as well level 1. you smite gromp and golems early when leashing, then you dont have smite again for 40 seconds. you can easily lose the buff by accident. people in lower elos are also dumb AF. ive had a caitlynn thinking she was helping run back to attack gromp, which i smited earlier, and she backed off. her attack last hit it. i dont know WHY she chose to for the life of me considering how low it was but i lost the buff and my level 2.

well i dont agree that its the twich or teemos fault if their posion steals gromp ive only seen that happen once and it was on a bjergson stream and they all blamed the jungler for that accident and also if u are that set on ur early lvl clear and mana sustain the get the hatchet at first then switch once u are good on gold and mana and can farm normally then that way at the cost of 250 gold u can farm roughly twice as fast and it wont bother u if ur mid is greedy and wants the blue ive seen alot of people do this early game and stomp people

The problem is his laners taking his buffs. He shouldn't have to adjust his playstyle to accomodate someone else being toxic. The jungle is not a faultless role and I personally don't like the majority of junglers nor do I like their mentality. But the OP and junglers are unequivically in the right when it comes to this situation.

Its way more practical to change urself than expect the world to change around u so if ur dead set on making everyone else change that does that than go ahead but dont expect an imediate change or a change at all

OP has legitimate greviances, why is everyone down voting him?

blacknerdtaku1 votes

Because Bronze.

or maybe people like having their buffs stolen by trolling teamates, IDK.

keep smite up when you know your buff its up. problem solved.

my smite at lvl 6 500-ish. cho can outsmite me by 900 health. i mentioned this in my post expliitly

change this post to hashtag bronze problems

as i posted above, it's not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf0RpcD6pzU

a troll teammate is a troll teammate.

you can get them everywhere.

Nunu Chogath Kalista lvl 1 twitch, and teemo

and anybody assuming your smite isn't up

I really cant stand when people joss aside problems because the person presenting them is in a lower ELO. thus far you haven't offered any sound advice on the matter so it seems even you cant come up with a solution. Allies shouldnt be able to just take your buffs as a jungle espicially when your smite is down. thats unfair to the team. period.

As a jungler, you should be giving your blue to mana reliant mids as the CDR and the regen is very good for them early in the game. Unless they will just die, lol.

As far as the poisons go, just save your ability or last AA so that you will be guaranteed to last hit it. It just requires a bit of extra attention on your part.

if it cripples my own clear times, then i will not give it to them. as a Xin Zhao Jg i have to ability spam to clear, hence the blue. with blue i can clear a lot more camps much quicker getting me the gold i need.

if that gets cut off then what happens? cho gets a blue that he will barely be using.

it's my blue, and it's more useful on somebody who roams.

It is way more efficient to give your mid laner blue, as they have access to more farm, and with the increased harass they will be able to put out, means they may also be able to deny the other teams mid CS, stretching the advantage further.

So, you can go on about it being your blue, but in reality it is the team's buff and should be used the most efficiently for the team. As the jungler it is your job to support the team, not try to solo carry with the 2nd most limited gold income and XP gain role.

blacknerdtaku1 votes

nobody's trying to carry, k? im trying to efficiently do my role. if i give you blue, you can have it. if you steal it, then you're at fault not me, espically if you have a 900 health smite that i dont have yet at lower levels. second blue on a mana intensive jungler goes to better use than it would on a midlaner. also, i get more gold from it.

fact is, riot has explicitly stated that they want the buffs to be "your buffs" thats why the added the whole smite tiers give gold passive.

but let me flip your argument around.

I go jungle, walk into a lane and just take CS. my laner pings for me to leave but i continue to take CS. "well it should be fine because it's the team's minions therefore gold is fair game" but that isnt the case. why? because in order for anybody to do something they need gold. for me to get my large buffs stolen is like for a jungler to come in and steal 2 waves from lane. everybody loses. Im forced to back more for mana problems, and i cant help lanes get ahead if i can barely clear my jg.

this is why the jungle role exists. Much like how whatever lane you're in is your lane, my jungle is MY jungle, and they are in fact My buffs. if you want to use the "team's buff's" excuse i guess they have carte blanch to the first buffs you take as well, right?

Jungle is already tough enough on XP and Gold this season, why make things harder for the guy on your team who is a eagle eyed babysitter?

That is a valid view point. I think it is a bit entitled and selfish, but that is a difference of opinion on strategy.

I jungle with the mindset of giving my teammates the most advantages possible. If my mid uses mana and won't get blown up instantly by his lane opponent, then I give it to them. I find it is usually better to lead with the olive branch of co-operative play to get people to work together.

To each his own, though.
