Is it impossible to early Gank with Jungle Jax?

First of all, I am bronze with no pretension that I am otherwise. However, I have learned to play Jax and have been messing around with builds and I find that I cannot Gank with him. Late game I do ok but early game gank is just not great. I have tried a number of builds, building armor and MR to sustain damage since I am point blank and building damage to try to output quick damage and even trying to build attack speed. In all circumstances the results are less than satisfying.

I have a game where by some MIRACLE the lane isn't pushed to the tower by bot but is actually gankable. I come in with a good angle, choose my target before hand, focus on a playerr down to half health and EQ into them, hit them with damage, stun, autoattack, reset W and ..... they are at 15% health and I am in a foot race. Foolishly i sometimes chase them into towers trying to get kills (I have to break myself of that habbit) but when they go down the ADC is the one that gets the kill, I end up with the assist, not the kill and not the gold or exp. As a result I am always massively behind because the time I spend ganking Im not clearing. So I will finish a game 1/4/8 and people will complain that the Jungler was the cause of the loss. I have even tried running smite/exhaust but early game ganks are almost impossible and Im left without flash to escape or chase.

Given I am not a pro player and might mess up the combo, I know there are many times I have had the right combo and still not ganked. Getting them from full life is absolutely impossible.

I am wondering if this is even possible with Jax. I would think I should be able to get ganks on bronze player who are relatively same skill as me but it just doesn't happen and its very frustrating.

Any suggestions or inflammable comments?

I've seen it work. May take some real good jungle knowledge. I remember a game where Jax counter ganked every time lee Sin ganked. Lee would gank, they would try real hard to kill but end up fleeing with little hp, then here come Jax, goddamn every time. Had one the other day just lane with his bot. He ganked around lv 2 or 3, like hella early. We were cocky n faught back. He sat in warded river bush so we messed with him and he left, or so we thought. He loops around and come into warded lane bush. We're like "fuck this guy. Lets mess him up, force him to back and farm.

Cant remember what, he ended up getn a stun and killed one of us.

Hey add me, I don't play Jax jungle but I do play Xin Xhao, so their play style is a little different but for early ganks it's about the same. When i get to a computer I can go through some strategies you can try in lane. Do you have a Rune/Mastery page you use for Djangle Jax? If yes can you tell me their names and I can look them up on Op.gg and give you some options to try out to see of that helps.

I have been using several builds but basically Attack speed quints, AD reds, Armor yellows and CDR blues. 18 Ferrocity and 12 resolve I think. Id have to look at the page but Im at work now. :) But i have tried a lot of combos including as high burst as I can get.

A really simple strategy you can try, come into the lane as wide as possible, and get as close to the person as possible without using your hop/stun combo. Force them to flash before you hop/stun because usually you will still be in range to utilize the hop/stun combo.

If you're coming into a lane that is not warded by a friendly go ahead and set a ward down in the river bush to help cover for your gank and your laner once you leave.

On your first gank, no matter how tempting, do not ever dive, don't ever come close to a turret. Strong early leads are the hardest to overcome and are a lot easier to snowball out of.

If you find that you are not getting the kills after a successful gank, tax the lane. Take 3 or 4 minions, if there is a Siege minion, take it too. But don't tax the lane if you get the kill. If you gank bot lane and the support gets the kill, take 1 or 2 cs, but hang around to soak up some XP from minions but try and let the ADC get the CS. Again, Don't ever tax a lane where you get the kill.

If the laner/s die in the gank attempt you need to either set the lane up to freeze long enough for your laner to return, or you need to push the lane hard to deprive the opposing laner of the cs and so it's reset by the time your laner comes back. This decision boils down to how much time you have, how the minions are naturally pushing. If the minions are relatively even about half way, push hard. If it's a huge wave in favor of the enemy, freeze the lane and last hit it under tower but try and keep it off of the tower. Never leave a lane in limbo. If your laner dies while exchanging in lane, show up and try and balance the lane. Either push it hard under tower, or set it up to freeze. This basically boils down to either taking away an advantage from the opposing laner or giving your laner the advantage.

Invade under the following conditions:

  1. No immediate ganks are available.

  2. All laners are accounted for in their lane

  3. Your allies in the adjacent lanes (so if you're top side top and mid, if you're bot side, bot and mid lanes) are pushed and have **strong ** pressure in their lane. Strong is a key word here, just because the minions are pushed past half in your laner's favor does not necessarily mean your laner has strong lane pressure. Be extra careful at invading Bot side when the adc has good wave clear, it's very easy for the support to roam in their jungle if the opposing adc can wave clear effectively under tower and your bot lane cannot tower dive.

  4. You know you can 1v1 the opposing jungler.

  5. Especially invade if you see the opposing jungle on the other side of the map.

  6. Never get too greedy, 1 camp is enough, try and go after the buffs first.

You should adjust your masteries some too. Jax functions best as an on hit AA champion, so attack speed, lifesteal and on hit effects are most ideal for him.

Your Masteries really should be: In your Ferocity tree - 5 in Fury over sorcery, you should change your 5 ticks of Natural Talent to Vampirism, and your Keystone should either be Warlords or Fervor. Fervor is better for damage and is ideal if you intend to invade, Warlords provides that extra sustain and a brief movement speed buff on your initial hit when you gank. Which one you choose is more of an opinion and preference in play style. In your cunning tree - move greenfather's gift to dangerous game, and move your secret stash to runic affinity.

Your runes are good, but you might want to upgrade your runes to tier 1 runes. Armor, it's best to just use 9 of the flat Armor too, and for the Glyphs I would just sock them all into either health regen or the magic resist. But I wouldn't use that few on CDR.

First off, I'm no Jungler nor am I a Jax player, so I won't be touching on anything to do with builds or Jungling specifics. That said, I think I can help you out with some general tips for ganking.

First off, if they're running away with very low health, you've done your job. You've applied pressure and forced the enemy laners to fall back. It's now the enemy laners' decision to choose between risking their lives by staying with only 15% health, or losing out on gold and experience by recalling.

The former means a potential double kill. The latter means your laners still come out ahead.

Foolishly i sometimes chase them into towers trying to get kills (I have to break myself of that habbit) but when they go down the ADC is the one that gets the kill, I end up with the assist, not the kill and not the gold or exp. Here's a general rule to go by when ganking.

If you get a kill, congrats! Go back to doing more Jungler things! :D If you don't get a kill, you get to take a few minions for your trouble (ie. Jungler Tax, a.k.a. "How to keep getting gold when a gank gives you none"). While I would say roughly half the minions there, I suppose it's your choice how much you want to tax your laners in the end.

Given I am not a pro player and might mess up the combo, I know there are many times I have had the right combo and still not ganked. Getting them from full life is absolutely impossible.

The biggest point I want to make is that a successful gank can mean more than just getting a kill/double kill. While it's definitely a plus when it happens, just forcing them to deal with your ganking is the main goal.

So, after you gank, try to assess some of the following options:

Are the enemy laner(s) low health? Success! Grab a few minions, then back off and grab Scuttles or something. If the enemy laner(s) are still there, go back in and gank them again.

Did the enemy laner(s) use Heal/Flash/Exhaust? Success! Grab a few minions, back off to grab Scuttles or something, then gank them again since they're already hurting and don't have Heal/Flash/Exhaust.

Did the enemy laner(s) recall or your ally laner(s) get a kill? Success! Grab a few minions and push minions under the enemy turret. If their turret is low, help your laner(s) destroy to the turret. Otherwise, ping for Dragon (if bot lane) or go do other Jungler things.

Did your laner(s) get outdamaged or killed in the process? Then something went wrong and you might want to consider just farming or helping another lane instead.

I would like to add to this. If you have scared off the enemy laner and are top/bot, then ward the river for your laner. This is especially true if you haven't seen the enemy jungler yet.

Typically, you will have a yellow ward to spare. Warding makes it safer for your laner to push the creep wave and his gold/xp advantage.

If you can't gank with Jax you are using q/e incorrectly

Its possible, E then Q in then E to stun, the problem is Jax's damage pre 6 is pretty low so if your laners don't follow up well the enemy is likely to get out alive. Xin has far better pre-6 ganks.
