This makes no sense

"We don’t feel like Ekko is too far off; he’s one of the more popular champions in the game, and has supported a number of different builds. That being said, we would like to see him better aligned with being a squishy damage dealer, not a tanky disruptor. We’re hoping to solidify his identity as a mobile, delayed damage dealer. "

he is either an asassin or not. delayed damage dealer? why would you pick a delayed damage dealer instead of. god knows. hmm. instant burst?

watch him get built like a tank still after the update. makes nosense.

I think the reason they are making this change is because tank Ekko is simply a broken build. So much cc, so tanky, and still ridiculous damage. They are updating him because they can't make tank Ekko unviable without nerfing AP Ekko (the intended playstyle) to hell, and making him the new Azir.

you missed my point. assassins are supposed to insta kill people and rn. most mages kill you faster than assassins some adcs even do. there is no reason to play ekko if hes a melee delayed damage dealer. thats riidiculous.

Its also just going to encourage him to (you guessed it) STILL build more tank items than offensive items, since he'll have to stay within melee range of his targets for an extended period of time.

Edit: I guess its more apt to call him Bruiser Ekko than Tank Ekko

Zed's ult is delayed and even Talon's ult gives time to react.

The instant 100-0 is actually something Riot is trying to remove with the rework. Allowing people a few seconds to react so it isn't an instant death.

yes but zed ult is point and click and he can still run away after ulting that single target. also he doesn't have to be close for his death mark to proc so thats irrelevant.

if riot wants to remove 100-0s from assassins. what about vayne killing you with 2 autos in under a second or idk veigar clicking QW on you or annie combo. which none of these have to be in melee range neither do they fall off or suck in team fights

The only flaw in that logic is the V combo and Annie combo can be countered easily with simply a Banshie. Ekko you pretty much have to fight fire with fire, in my personal favorite way Tank Akali.
