Instead of 1800 damage late game with a single q it's going to be 1500. What would she do now? It's not like she's an adc with true damage and already has an adc skillset.

Sightless663 votesThe Vayne nerf is a revert of the buff that caused her to become a problem. Seems like a very good first step. We all lived with Vayne being able to crit for high numbers for years in the past. No need to overreact and start tearing out things that have always been there.
And what do you mean "waiting on rylai's"? You are aware that the nerf is already on the pbe, right?

Big Lincoln1 votespart of the other buff was that her Q crit no longer rolls separately with her auto attack; now if the attack crits the bonus damage does too.
I don't think the bonus damage should crit at all, to be honest. most AA modifiers like that don't.
Sightless661 votesThe bugfix was actually a significant nerf. You can see that her winrate went down significantly on the patch it was applied, despite being paired with a buff that allowed her q to damage towers, and despite there being no change to other factors that would explain a decrease in her winrate.
The reason it was a nerf is because there another bug that caused rolling a crit on the q damage to also always apply a crit on the base damage as well, even though rolling a crit on the base damage did not guarantee a crit on the q bonus damage. Fixing this bug decreased the average damage Vayne did with crit.
Vayne's q has always crit. It represents a very large amount of power. Stripping it away would make her weak, particularly since ad carry itemization currently requires the purchase of significant amounts of crit. It would not be an appropriate nerf for her current power level.

Sightless661 votesJust to continue on my last paragraph a bit: I do kind of agree with you about Vayne's Q crits. While I personally have no objection to Vayne being able to crit with her Q, I also can see the argument saying that it should be taken away. You're right that most autoattack modifiers can't crit, and it's not like getting huge crits fits particularly well with her sustained-damage tankbuster theme. My only objection to removing it right now is that while she is strong, I don't think she's strong enough to take that large of a hit to her damage without becoming a very weak champion.
Of course, that doesn't mean we shouldn't do it. It just means that we'd have to be willing to find something else to buff about her to compensate for it a little.
Big Lincoln1 votesi'm more than willing to see her DPS go up (or everyone else's goes down; I will always hold the stance there's too much damage right now) as long as her burst is reduced. Buffs to her W would be the most sensible solution.
Of course we could always make those AA modifiers crit
