Odinakos1 votesWell it is because 2015 week 1, when EU had worse results than NA, NA fans were over the place with NA>EU. At best. Then 0-10 happened(while EU had 2 semis). Adding to this, NA(both fans and some players) have been not so humble along with overhyped and cocky that they are the elite. And as always when someone talks touph and then falls even toupher, its funny and totally deserved to get all this. No matter which region did it.
Seriously if NA (or whatever similar case) was humbler before the finish line, they would not get that much hate. Because at the end you look like a rumbling buffoon that only knows how to talks but achieves nothing. And then you are crying "why are they making fun of me?".

Yeah, I'd much rather do the whole "who brought more imports to worlds/MSI" "Game", as realistically the regular season is pretty meaningless. You claim that NA needs to find their identity. If anything, I'd say both NA and EU need to start farming up homegrown talent as not only do their challenger levels look ridiculously weak right now (could probably be beaten by the people casting their games), but barring like 4 teams the entirety of EU and NA stand zero chance at beating even some of the lesser korean/chinese teams like JAG or WE.

Are you kidding me? EU has an HISTORICAL amount of young players that led the western esports scene since S1. EU won season 1 championship (not saying that was a great achivement) with XPEKE SOAZ YELLOSTAR. U say we gotta grow talents? they have been in the scene since S1.
Not to mention Bjerg, Jensen, Rekkles, Froggen (started playing for FNC aat 16-17 yo). We gotta grow talents?
we brought 15 europeans to worlds this year (yes i m counting Bjerg Jensen and svenskeren) opposed to the 10 North americans. If u count Bjerg as NA i count Ryu as european xD. Splyce is a new born team that made it to worlds WITH NO IMPORTS. And that speaks for itself. that s what is define as "growing talents".
Lets say the truth. EU is the Western nursery on talents. Thats what makes us "good" in the sense of esport tradition and makes do good every year.
Mine was a suggestion, didn' t mean to trashtalk. NA needs to step up as a region and the only way to do that is stop importing players thinking they are gonna pick up the region.

Also a fun fact: the #2 wildcard seed beat the #2 NA seed with zero scrims prior to worlds and facing off against EU challenger-level competition (dark passage started cozq in the iwcq, who started on team 4g of EUCS). As someone who watches worlds just to watch actual skill and has no real "affiliation" with regions, watching NA and EU this year disappoints me. Both regions came in touting big game, but when the chips were down they clearly showed that they were/still are inferior to much of the rest of the globe.

Honestly? I'm not as surprised as most of the people who have posted about it. That being said, when teams and fans tout that their teams are going to do "Amazing stuff" at worlds and they bring this level of questionable play that makes me wish for 4th seeds to be brought in so we could see 2016 spring split dignitas and current EULCS team misfits just to see if they'd perform better than what was realistically a battle between overconfidence and skill in which the skill completely demolished.
Odinakos1 votesEU is indeed weakened (at least compared to S5 EU) but our teams did not fall out of expectations because they were low to begin with. With FNC out and OG shattered, the region was weakened regarding international(and locally) dynamiq. And we knew that.
G2 were anywhere but expected to perform since we remember MSI. And all the touting they did, was at best ignored, worst memed by EU fans. Despite their run in Europe we expected them(and some hoped) to choke at international competition.
SPY are rookies and we could not expect a great show. Still its nice to see another team/set of players get international experience. I hope they up the ante even more because we need some serious competition.
H2K were unsure if they would get out of group stage, and it was a pleasant suprise they got out.
These are not excuses, just my PoV regarding EU world presence. I knew our region is at a very weak state atm compared to other years powerhouse and hope it stengthens up in the future.
Could not care1 votesI would generally be rooting for any non-KR team to win (and not because I'm racist - I sincerely think Worlds is quite boring due to the KR domination), but after being told thrice this week something similar to "as NA, I'm happy to lose to Koreans as long as EU scrublords lose", it sincerely feels good to see NA crumbling.
Seriously, keep your idiot kids in pens and aim higher than to be the 2nd or 3rd best loser - maybe then you'll have the chance to do something great.
