Thoughts and Blitz ballance

After reading the sticky at the top I am going to say Riot needs to reevaluate how they decide if a champion is overpowered. I don't know 100% for sure but I am guessing the pros play on a closed network on a private server that is only handling the requests of 11 computers. This makes a big difference in response times from the server. Using the pro standard leaves a lot of champions in a position where in the majority of games they are broken (I do offer Riot an invitation to provide stats to prove me wrong). Yes I acknowledge there is a vast spread when it comes to player skill but when certain champions have to be banned or they break non pro play I would say there is a problem.

This will bring me to Blitz. I've been playing this game sense season 1. Blitz is one of the only champions I consistently lose to. He has an excessive amount of CC that is complemented by his amazing AP/AD ratio and his high tank.

So past scrapping the champion what to do about it? First off you could cut Blitz's AP/AD ratios in half and you would still have a strong champion because 3 of his 4 abilities have some sort of control factor to them. His fourth ability can make him hard to catch. So I don't think it is out of the realm of reason to cut his ratios. If you want to keep the ratios cut the distance his Q goes by about 33%. With as tanky as he is you should make him really commit to that grab. Ok so you don't like option 1 or 2 that's fine here is option 3) drop his growth stats. Currently without items he maxes out at 2198hp reduce this to ~1700 and give him a new passive so he doesn't get a huge second health bar when he is low on hp.

In all my options I believe the passive needs to be removed from his ult (maybe rework the ult a bit to compensate for this).

I would love to hear constructive talk but lets face it this is the internet so I won't hold my breath.

I like your options. He's a real challenge to play against. I've been some time into figuring some strategy for this but regardless he really ruins the champ select stage. You can't take a squishy support because he is the perfect counter pick to them. Consequently we have ended up with tank heavy support role (look at the last worlds; a tank support was chosen almost everyone game - if i'm not mistaken only Morgana was chosen on a couple of occasions). In general I have an issue with squishy supports being competitive against tank supports but that's a different story.

I really like your idea of reducing the range of the grab as this would balance against his tankiness. Compare him to Leona's kit. He's just as tanky but Leona has to dive into the crowd, not just pluck one player from it.

Blitz is one of the few champions where it doens't matter if you are 0-10 and have only sightstone, coin and boots at 50 minutes. I wouldn't want to see that changed.

Blitz really doesn't need nerfs. Now before you cry why and tell me his ratios are ridiculous, keep in mind Blitz is an old champion. Most old champions have an AD/Huge AP ratio. Blitz seems more intended to be a solo laner champion rather than a support. However people saw that his Q could get his team fed and they capitalized on it. Other than that, trying to catch any skilled players with decent reactions with your Q is like shooting a bird that's 2 miles away from you with a pistol. Ridiculously hard to do. Not to mention Blitz's combo solely relies on him landing his Q. Sure, you can use your ult and E at any time, but if they're down when you grab someone, then you will have no way to keep someone locked down. Now, let's talk about his tankiness. Blitz can be very tanky, but this comes at the cost of him not doing much damage unless all you build is IBG. I played Blitz quite a bit, and when I went full tank I did little damage, and I was mainly ignored and unable to defend my team. Going full damage, however, makes people want to focus you down- this comes at the cost of being a front line tank, however.

If you don't want to read the long post, read this instead: Blitz's Q is easy as hell to dodge if you focus. There are situations you won't be able to avoid, yes- but in most cases you should be able to walk one direction and avoid it. This is the reason Riot won't touch him much- That game changing Q has so much margin for error it usually is a pain to deal with. It has insane cost along with the rest of his kit, and if you are bad at aiming, you might accidentally pull their tank who has AoE CC.

He's not imbalanced, really. Just extremely binary.

You can do a lot to minimize the threat he presents to you. Keep minions between Blitzcrank and yourself. Don't push forward unnecessarily. Keep vision on your side bushes. Punish the enemy laners whenever he misses a hook. Buy boots early.

But if he lands one good hook, gg, it's over.

Imbalanced? Hardly. Fun? Not really, imho. He doesn't need stat adjustments, but I certainly wouldn't mind seeing adjustments to his kit.
