Passive - Frenzy of the Storm: Every third attack, Volibear will bite down on his attack target, dealing bonus physical damage based on his target's missing health. When Volibear's health drops below 1/3, he heals a large amount based on the damage he deals.

Q - Rolling Thunder: Volibear gains bonus movement speed for the next 4 seconds, doubled when moving towards a nearby visible enemy champion within range of him. For the duration, Volibear's next basic attack deals bonus physical damage and flings his target over and behind himself. Rolling Thunder resets Volibear's autoattack timer.

W - Electrifying Claws: Volibear gains bonus attack speed for a few seconds. The bonus physical damage of Frenzy of the Storm deals double damage as mixed damage for a few seconds. Volibear's basic attacks mark an enemy as Electrified. When Volibear bites down from Frenzy of the Storm, he deals his bonus damage to all Electrified enemies and his attack also deals it's bonus damage to the nearest unmarked target, marking them.

E - The Coming Storm - Passive: Volibear stores a charge of Coming Storm periodically, up to a maximum of 3 at once. Thunderous Roar cannot be cast without charges.

  • Thunderous Roar - Active: Volibear stops and roars, consuming all charges of Coming Storm, dealing magic damage to all enemies around him, causing enemy champions to become slowed and minions and monsters to become feared. The damage and radius of Thunderous Roar increases with every stack consumed. If all 3 stacks were consumed, enemy champions also become feared.

R - Chieftain of War: All allies behind Volibear gain bonus movement speed towards Volibear. Melee allied champions also Electrify enemies with their basic attacks. Recasting this ability will command all near by allied minions to target a single enemy, causing them to deal bonus damage to that target. The bonus movement speed for allied minions is doubled.

Volibear stops and roars

the stopping bit would be very frustrating for a Voli player. He gets kited easily; that soft cc right now is what allows him to get to/stay on his target for a bit.

Yeah, but he also fears his enemies, giving him time to close the gap. I think the cast time is a good trade off for more hard CC.

Why make it run on stacks at all then? Make it only fear and be a basic ability on a longer cooldown. Or make it only fear if they have an "electrified" debuff from W or something that he can either use to do extra damage or to fear. Just some thoughts.

Because having a short cooldown for a short range fear on monsters is really useful on a jungler.

Wait, I just noticed when I re-read it. Where are his thunderclaws? That's the #1 best feeling about playing Voli besides biting to kill.

It's his W, and I removed the limit to the number of bounces the lightning can make. Also with his new ult his allies can also spread the lightning faster.

So it ramps up kinda like Ryze E? Am I getting that right? If so it sounds interesting.

Not so sure about the new ult, but the rest seems decently meshed together/cohesive.

He's suppose to be the leader of the warmongering ursains. He needed something to show his leadership skills.

I thought his plan to do that was to just kill everything in his wake and thus they should man up or die like sniveling cubs... but that might be just me. Maybe his ult could make him bigger and extend his ranges for a short while? Edit: I gtg for tonight; was nice reading your post/discussing it with you. Hopefully Voli gets some love from the VGU team soon :)

Voli doesnt need a rework imo

But he's literally on the full relaunch list. He's in line for a Galio level relaunch, at least in terms of kit.

Not to mention his new lore making him some ethereal essence that drives people to combat.

Dude, like, Voli and Fiddles are already confirmed to be the relaunches for 2020. Then probably Shy, Noc, and Mundo for 2021.
