Implement an support item that makes assists worth something.

I was thinking, why don't we create an item that gives you 150 bonus gold every other assists, similar to how CoD does "every other assist count as a kill"?

Also, it could take the amount of assists you have and convert into some form of damage and damage reduction?

For example, it could take the amount of assists (say you are 0/1/10) and convert that into a X amount of assists minus X amount of death as % current HP of on-hit damage(basic attacks only) but can not exceed 12% for melee and 10% for ranged? For this example you would deal 9% of your targets current HP (and only 60% of on hit damage for ranged) every 40-20 seconds based on your level but cooldown is resetted immediately after every assist?

Also reducing the amount of damage from autos and single target spell based off of your assists minus deaths?

And it should also be build through with either one of the threeitem 2303item 2302 item 2301 support items with just an extra 900 gold.

I mean, dark seal/mejais stacks pretty quick as a support, and supports generally 'want' AP rather than AS/AD/on-hit. Sometimes it's actually useful for utility boosting instead of damage!

What you want is a keystone mastery that proportionally rewards assists-- the more you get, the more the keystone does. What it would probably do is give bonus gold based on some function of current assists. What it won't ever do is exist, because gold leads tend to have drastic results in League of Legends in particular.

Assists probably won't move a whole bunch or become interactive like you propose. The reason is that there's bad proportion; Soraka, Sona and Karthus are just a few who command some pretty insane presence with assists. Start rewarding it and you start funneling power into champions like them unnecessarily.
