Zhonyas is overtuned

Premise: Zhonya's Hourglass is a defensive item that has too much damage stats to it, causing it to have too much utility at virtually no cost. Therefore, its AP stats should be nerfed a bit so it actually acts as more as a defensive item.

So, item 3157 this thing, is over tuned. Its a mage item thats supposed to counter assassins and that's fair, the invincibility aspect of it is really good at avoiding a ton of burst from someone like, a fed blue Kayn, an ulting Rengar, or something like a Darius ult. But here's the problem. The numbers on it are just absurd, here's why. Here are its stats: 75 AP 45 Armor 10% CD Along with that passive we all know and probably hate. So, what's wrong with this is, if you are playing as a mage, or an ap champion, there is almost no penalty at all for taking this item, it does just as much damage as most of the other AP items, on top of that, you get almost as much armor as a sunfire cape item 3068 , AND you get 10% cd. Then the passive that lets you be invincible for 2.5 seconds even though you cant move.

The issue here is that Zhonyas is a defensive item, that's what its passive is used for and that's why you get a good amount of armor from it, but you get as much damage from it as almost any other AP item, like, imagine if you got a BORK item 3153 with all of its current base stats, but it also gave you armor on top of that and instead of its current active you got the Zhonya's active. Suddenly there are virtually no downsides to it because you get a good amount of damage, armor, life steal and invincibility. My suggestion, nerf the AP on Zhonyas, make it more of a tough choice for people who get it. A good amount of AP for it would maybe be to something around 55-60. If this change was made the item would still maintain its role as a more defensive item but at the cost of someone's damage, then raise its armor by 5 or its CD a little to compensate.

because buying sunfire against a tank as ahri means you won't be able to even kill the minions

the item needs the offensive stats so mages can "counter assassins" and still be in the game

if you ever played a mage and were forced to take the zhonya and not just sit on the armguard you would know how shit it feels like to have spent that amount of gold on the ability to prevent your death fro 2.5s

NOBODY likes going zhonya MOST ARE FORCED into going zhonya so no the item isn't overtuned because if you die regardless of using it it just means you wasted an opportunity on actually being useful by buying something else
