Fixing the toxicity in League and adding incentive for people to be less toxic.

We all have those Yasuo mains, those Riven mains, and all those other toxic people in our ranked games. (Im a Yasuo main but I like to think i'm one of the less toxic ones..) You know, those people who will throw a fit after just a couple mistakes are made in a game, and will either completely throw the game or just flat out run it down mid. Now I believe the honor system was the first step to fixing the toxicity in league but I feel like it could be taken a step further by adding a setting that lets you only queue up with people of similar honor level or people with a good reputation in League of Legends to help avoid these types of people in games. Obviously this is most prominent in lowers ranks such as bronze, silver and gold, but it also exists in the higher ELOs as well. I do understand that adding a feature like this would lengthen queue times. However if you take a look at a similar game to league as an example, Overwatch, with their new system. You have to wait longer to get into games or get your teams, yes. But at least you know that you will be getting good teammates who actually will do everything it takes to climb the ladder with you and will give people reasons to act better in games. Because if they want better teammates then they themselves will have to act better. Keep in mind this idea would be a setting you can turn on and off if you aren't willing to wait the longer queue times.

People with honor 5 post in here about bans about as frequently as everyone else. Honor is not an indicative of how "non toxic" you are

Agree completely... though making it about honor level would be a mistake since you don't always get honor when you deserve it.

The answer that you're looking for is Prisioner's Island... and I'm an advocate! Riot is notoriously a tough sell on it, so it probably won't happen.

Riot really SHOULD think about changing that position though. The people who want to troll will troll, and a lot of them live in low elo because of it. If Riot were to put people like that in their own isolated queue, they could have all the toxic "fun" THEY want to have while everyone else would be free to work with a more mature environment.

Now, I'm not against redemption. I'm sure there's an algorithm that can track if someone stops the toxic behavior... they should be given an ability to fight their way out of the prison queue.

but i know it's not a popular idea around here because people get afraid that they might end up there... which is THE WHOLE POINT!!!

So how exactly would you determine these players are "good" players? Are we basing this solely on a good score, honors? With that said how would this work with Rank? Wouldn't this just make people honor less because it will bump those people up, but probably not you unless you know for a fact people will honor you.

You should probably tell us exactly how Overwatch does this, because as someone who doesnt play Overwatch (at least not as much as i play league) I have no idea what this new system is, nor what/how it actually helps people achieve what you want it to achieve!

I’m only honor level two because I started playing again late into the season and sometimes only play a couple games a day. Implementing a system like this would end up punishing people like me by grouping us with lower honor people. Not to mention how long the queue times would become.
