I think it would be nice to be able to reset your rank, including all of your placement matches.

I feel like I did poorly for the first half of my placement matches at the start of the season. I actually didn't have a whole lot of PVP SR experience / comfort at the start of the season, and jungling as Kayn at that point was, .. not wise of me.

Throughout the season I played a lot more Normal matches and my comfort improved a lot. I'm not sure that I would say that my overall skills improved that much, but I figured out which jungler champions I am more consistent on.

I finished my placements a few weeks back and I placed Silver IV, which is what I placed in S6 by falling on my face as a support just to see how I would do, and I feel like I got carried then.

It is late in the season now, but I think if I could have restarted my placement matches earlier in the season, I would have done better and I would have actually been more interested in climbing to gold.

I do bet this has been suggested before, and there might be a very good reason to not allow this, but I think it would have helped me out this season.

Soooooo give everyone in Silver/Bronze a chance to dumb luck their way into Gold every season? Also smurfs get a free reset to ruin lower ELO games all over again?

The later in the season someone tries to place, the more difficult it would be to "dumb luck" into gold.

You realize you're talking about getting carried into the top 40% regionally.

So what if smurfs want to try and reset their rank. It is no different than a smurf simply not playing their placements until halfway through the season. They're putting themselves in the position to potentially have lower skilled players drag them down.

Thats not how a hard reset works. Its actually easier to dumb luck into gold the further in the season

It does matter what percentage it is. You need to earn it and not reset placements until you get it for free. Sorry. If its only top 40%, then why dont you grind your way there?

No, its not. Your MMR carries over from last season. Hard resetting essentially lets them play through Silver once, then lets them reset and do it again.

You are proposing a change that would have a massive fuck ton of negative consequences just because it benefits you. I dont even understand why you're asking for a reset since you cant really get placed higher anyway. You were S4 in a previous season and got placed S4 again. You almost never get moved up from placements. Its not the ranked system's fault that you don't play ranked.

You're making a lot of assumptions for me here. I am not expecting that I would even get placed into gold.

I might be able to place S3 or S2, but I don't even know that I am skilled enough, or that I really have the patience to grind my way to gold. I'm not even saying that I deserve that. I might be able to, but that isn't my point here at all.

I'm not saying it is anyone's fault other than my own. I am saying that my comfort level has improved between the first 8 placement matches and my last 2. I believe that would make some difference, maybe not a lot, but I would have been interested in finding out.

Also, I really don't appreciate you jumping down my throat over this. I even said in the last paragraph of my post that I understand that I am likely overlooking something. You may be right about the negative impact that this might cause, but you don't need to be a dick about it.

Last day of the ranked season is November 12. That means that your rank will be clear and you will play 10 placement matches again.However past rank will remains if someone wants to check.

I think it would be nice to be able to reset your rank, including all of your placement matches. However you can't restart your rank because if you do everyone else will do which means there will not be current people in ranks to play with. Edit. I would say to have main champion which can carry game. Support isn't role you can carry with because players in silvers most of the time don't care about climbing or wins. Like my experience as I get in game I mute half of my team because their salt.

I'm talking about a player having the option to voluntarily reset their personal rank within their client, as if they had never even played their placements for that season.

It wouldn't impact anyone else's rank.
