Sup. wants to focus enemy Sup. in trades/all ins...?

My last support was deadset on ignoring the squishy twitch in favor of the tankier and lower damage dealing enemy bard. I'm a mid/top main trying to learn adc due to the risk of being autofilled into it... Anyways title... i contiued to focus the adc and we lost every trade. This on me or him? I asked him to cooperate and he refused.

On one hand, focusing the squishy that's melting your health is the right call. But if he absolutely refused to focus the same target as you, sometimes everyone focusing the wrong target and killing them can be better than everyone focusing different targets and getting no kills.
