XANN COULTER2 votesThe whole point of energy is to gate late game while giving an early advantage. Late game very few mana champions think about it (with exceptions) while in late game team fights "unending spam" will make a Shen or lee sin unable to participate.

Merxamers1 votesUnlike mages who can buy additional mana, you can't build additional energy on energy champs, so their ults are gated by cooldown. If Lee Sin had an energy cost on his ultimate, his other abilities would have to be much cheaper just so he can make a play with it.
