Why does Illaoi do so much damage for so little effort?

If she lands 1 E on you in lane, you pretty much have to recall.

And later when she presses R, everyone takes at least 50% of their HP. And she doesnt even have to aim anything. Just R.

She's a Juggernaut champion, which are supposed to be power'houses but should be highly immobile such as lacking proper gap closers, escapes or other measures that can let some other champions get in and out of combat when they need to.

At the very least her entire kit is basically skill shots and setup, since she can't use W fully unless she has tentacles nearby. If your smart you would actually build boots early on against champions like her and Cho'gath which i did in all for 1 as Jhin against a cho'gath team and it let me easily get out of the hit box of Cho'gath's knock up pretty easily.

Her Q and E also are just direct line skill shots so side stepping tends to work well. As for her E, it works by transmitting a % of the damage the pulled spirit takes to you, requiring you to either fight the Illaoi to negate the spirit, run to the border to force proc the 2nd effect, meaning you got to dodge and kill tentacles for a few seconds, but you can at least stop her from damaging you OR let her destroy the clone and suffer both problems together.

Plus just like Galio, Amumu, Oriana, Ziggs, Lux, Morganna, Maokai, Malphite and so on: "YOU AVOID CLUSTERING TO NOT LET HER DUNK YOU". Its usually easy to mitigate those kinds of moves thru that and even if she does dunk only one of your team mates, you can just simply have everyone run away from the tentacle to avoid her from free blast damaging you with W procs.

Part of the reason the kit works is because her tentacles will home in on nearby enemies but has a wind up for the attack itself, making it possible to 'dodge', stacking her Q grants bonus damage to the "Slam" which is the attack the tentacles and her Q does when they 'attack', In that regard, its mostly dodging her Q and not be near her tentacle spawns (or kill them quickly before she gets near), to mostly dodge out most of her damage, very least she has to rely on players aiming properly unlike Darius who can just hook and spin bleed people and combo it into a full hemmorage stack to blast them with maybe a Q, autos or other attacks for some hard damage.

Wow Im not asking you to summarize her skills. I know what they do.

I know that casting her E has zero risk and the reward is sending the person back to recall.
