Make Banshee's Veil an Active
I like Banshee's Veil ability to stop a spell, but it's annoying when the spellshield gets hit by a non-crucial spell.
Obviously "popping" someone's Veil is a counterplay tactic to the item, and having the blue orb around a champion when it's up is also a good visual for the enemy team.
So if you made it an active, this makes it harder for the enemy team to deal with, so it will probably need a nerf. It's already not the strongest stat items, so what could you nerf. You could increase the cooldown of the active, but that doesn't really help the enemy team counterplay the item that much still. Odyn's Veil takes and stores magic damage dealt to the user, instead of blocking cc, which is a somewhat more interesting component.
My idea is kind of bizarre, and would definitely need tweaking.
- Upon a champion activating their veil, a blue orb surrounds the champion for 1.5 seconds.
- Whilst a champion's veil is active, if they are hit by an enemy spell they are unaffected by that spell
- If the champion successfully blocks a spell, they become invisible for 2.5 seconds. (They are revealed if they attack or cast a spell)
- Whilst a champion is invisible they receive 10% increase damage from all enemy sources
For me it's an uninteresting item in its current state, and I think adding player choice/ maybe a little more functionality would make it more interesting.
