if I exhaust (2.5s) Zed .6s after his ult (3s) will I mitigate his ult by 40%?
Exhaust lasts 2.5 seconds, so if I exhaust zed .6s after he ults, will I mitigate 40% of his 2nd ult damage?

zed's ult works in a weird way, it uses the dmg premidigated to calculate the dmg done. For example if you were given a shield as zed did his dmg the dmg done to the shield would dmg you in the pop of his death mark, but by exhausting him you would cut it down atleast
I would to like to know the answer to this.
Yes. Any damage that is dealt by them is reduced when they are exhausted. It works for any spell that takes time to do the damage (e.g: Lux's Ultimate, Zilean bombs, Fizz ulti, Vlad ulti, etc.)
it would be better to ext him faster since he will do less dmg to you the mark will do less as well
