In my opinion it depends on your champion. Like If a nasus chooses TP/Ghost thats acceptable however say a Kog'Maw took ghost over flash it would be a bit odd due to his severe lack of mobility plus his squishyness. That being said it shouldn't be an issue to anyone else what summoner spells you prefer.

In my opinion Ghost on kog maw would be fine because he can run the hell away and get into a better firing position

I do it all the time with Talon.

Play what you want man. I can't vote either way because it's situational. For example, I don't think I'd take ghost on Cait; having two wall jumps is very helpful. But I can imagine it working pretty well on some other champs.

I normally run ghost on Hecarim, Vladimir, Annie (Flash Ghost sometimes), Viktor, Rammus, and Nasus. It really just depends on the champion you are playing! Amumu

Everything is situational. I can't reasonably answer this question with the given context. There are acceptable times to take neither ghost nor flash after all.

depends, i usually only take summoner 6 if i'm playing TahmKench, Ryze, Cassiopeia, Syndra, or Orianna

so mainly mid mages need summoner 6, anyone else kinda works better with summoner 4 but summoner 6 could work too

also summoner 6 is only good on TahmKench since he can eat the adc and ghost out of the gank

It has far fewer uses than flash, its strength is that it's much more powerful when used offensively to chase down enemies.

I usually take ghost. Lower cool down, 10 second speed burst through minions, and flash is good to go through walls but the other team usually follows anyways. The bonus to ghost is even after the enemy uses an ability to catch up you are still moving fast out of range and they are on cool down. Again it really is champ based but the ghost rework was great and has a real place in the game now.

Its good if you are in a chasing game, like if its all MasterYi, Tryndamere, and Volibear, but when the game is not so much chasing, where you have to dodge cc sandwiches and stuff, I like flash.

Flash for the most part is pretty much expected at higher levels of play. Mainly due to it's versatility and how often it can save you life in a bad situation.

This isn't to say that ghost isn't useful, but most people won't trade it for flash. Though for some champs, you can certainly run both spells, offering you Superior mobility in exchange for a more offensive or defensive spell.

The only champs that can really replace flash, usually have a powerful dash already in their kits. (Shako, Herc) My personal favorite is Olaf, While he doesn't have a dash, his ult prevent him from being locked down. You can combined that Ghost, and the spell combo has a way lower CD than flash.

There are certain champs you may take ghost on and be effective, and there are certain champs you do not. If you're taking ghost and ignite mid on a mage, you're going to get camped, punished, and killed. 350 unit blink > ~36% ms bonus for 10 seconds on almost all champions. Olaf, Hecarim, skarner, and Nasus are the only good champs to replace flash with ghost on. Taking both flash and ghost is pretty viable on most champs, but flash is basically a must.
