If you don't like getting auto filled start playing Top lane. He basically never gets auto filled.
Since it would seem most of the people who play top lane quit the lane or quite the game.
I would even go as far as to say top lane is likely the least desired position in the game these days given that all supports seem to be mages or assassins.
But go on and keep saying top lane is in a good place.

No don't play top lane its cancer. People don't even try to play top lane its all just counter pick or lane cheese. You wanna play a melee heres quinn or heimer. You wanna play a tank heres. Vayne. You just throw any shit top and its sooo fucking frustrating to play now. Im about to drop it and go play support. Why hurt myself top when i go can be pyke or allistar and piss off the enemy teams with roams.one of the worst things about top is that you put these fucking abominations like irelia and akali up there and people think the lane is viable and its not its always just fighting something thats utterly frustrating and never getting any help. But you sure as hell better be able to help your jg or bot lane at any given moment even tho you are getting either camped or lane bullied I honestly do not recpmmend the role people are quitting it for a reason it fucking sucks up here!!
Top lane: The place you go, when you want you want to play a 1v1 minigame while your team wins or loses for you.
They just need to bring back the tank meta. It was literally the healthiest state the game has ever been in and the most enjoyable to play. Right now it's just this full damage assassins/bruisers blowing up everybody without any strategy.

If you never want to be auto filled. Play jungle.
I have literally never gotten my 2nd role (top) queing JG/Top. Only non jungle games were intentional.
I queue top/ mid, never get mid like ever. Every once in a while I get filled jg which I am fine with, I used to queue top/ jg so yeah not a big deal
Imagine actually thinking top lane isn't a popular role and isn't one of the most powerful roles.
Can somewhat confirm. Out of ~70 games fill in plat i got:
Top: ~40% Jgl: ~18% Mid: 0% Sup: ~19% Adc: ~22%
Top lane: The place where losing Junglers go to collect their welfare check. From Top Laners perspective: "Why do i even exist? Is my purpose simply to exist so that junglers have reliable income if they cant gank lanes that matter?"

Really? I would put top as 2nd most desirable position. Mid as 1st, jungle and support as a close 3/4 and adc as last. Just because you are going to be behind in lvls from sharing XP, watch the map, while CSing, balance lane trades, timing summs properly to bait in the enemy bot lane by healing your 10 hp support. Like it's a role that demands a lot for little reward because even if you get ahead in that role you can easily be overtaken by a better mid and top laner with jungle assistance. But maybe desirable isn't the right word, impactful maybe?
