Is it me or have people forgotten supports have other roles?
Let's be honest for a minute, how many times have you seen Braum start in top lane over being a support?
How many times have you seen a Nami or Janna mid instead of supporting?
I feel like while their intended role is meant to be a support, they have been forced into that position and don't get a choice about it. One of my recently favorite roles to do is playing Face Punch Thresh in the Top Lane because he an get the farm to become scary and can get souls easier since he doesn't have to worry about getting mauled by two people. Plus since he is ranged he doesn't have to worry about annoying melee top champs like Riven, however, and when the team fights start coming along, Thresh still offers the same stuff he did when he would be a support, he has his pull, shield, his knock, and his slow, just playing with a different set of items since he isn't supporting. And when you think about him personality wise, why would the spirit of a mad warden that stalks people to their breaking point then steals their soul be consider a support whatsoever?
I just feel like if champion can do other things besides being a supportive class, then they should be able to have the option to do it, otherwise why even bother giving them the chance anyhow?
This is gonna get downvoted to oblivion for expressing my opinion isn't it?
: Riot has warned those idiots playing me as mid lane, why won't those idiots listen....?
top lane? You should try:
top lane first before you go ranting on Thresh's secondary lane. As such, both champs has no escaping mobility, Darius actually hurts more than Thresh does due to Hemorrage passive, & Thresh's ult has been going a giant nerf many patches ago, making his ult to damage only 1 enemy as a supportive role. Building tank Darius will still keep the high damage output for the first few minutes, but of course, never leave out Hydra when needed. Thresh isn't so dependable as a fighter style since, if you compare to all of his moves & abilities together, they are only suited to fight in only 1v1 battles.
top lane first due to the short AA range like Thresh has. Urgot's passive, as reducing the target's dealt damage by 15%, is what makes Urgot a lil tanky enough to block off most of his lane opponent's damage, but still, he gets rekt easily in many top lane composition. For Thresh, he is only a giant threat from his first AA, while his next subsequent AAs are as weak as
.
was banned about 90% of the time, most probably due to his potential as a mid laner instead of support, so there's one good point out of your thread here. Although, I never seen a Zilean mid laning before. Not sure if that's worth it even at low elo.
: Well, I don't really mind those two as a mid laner, as I can see there's a small potential in that. But still, both champs have surprisingly expensive ability costs at early game, one being Janna's Q starting at 90 mana and above. The rest of their kits are purely seen to be supportive moves, so that's for the creative low elo mid laners to figure out on how to use it.
First going mid as an anti-assassin, then top and becoming a huge lane bully and just something generally annoying and impossible to deal with for nearly all toplaners to deal with.
In the toplane after his buffs, he could build a ton of crit items, go in and pop his ult, and deal massive damage while taking 70% reduced damage, which isn't something that should really happen.
