Anything Happening With Talon?

I come along to the forums to search for any news on Talon updates (along with Google of course) but I can never find anything.

Is he getting an update/rework any time soon? With the release of new champions (such as Ekko, who I'll use as an example) he's rather obsolete. Don't get me wrong, he's still got his niche, but his skill set is so one-dimensional. He has one jump, a stronger basic attack, an AOE attack and an AOE ult. Meanwhile Ekko has such many more options with his skill set, with his three jumps, strong ranged poke, stun, shield and ultimate. I understand that they're different champs but he's just one example. Point is, Talon isn't necessarily a bad champion, but he's not great either and that's the problem. He's average. He's balanced. He has his good lanes, he has his bad lanes. But for a melee mid who has no real method of competing for cs with any half-decent ranged mid player, he's extremely limited in his usefulness. There's always a better pick.

As someone who's played very close to a thousand games with Talon, I've felt his usefulness drop over the seasons. The nerfs he received were required at the time, but now it's time to think about giving him a buff or rework. Is one in the pipeline?

Don't post about talon on here. You get nothing but salt from all the mage players on these boards, even if you aren't talking about buffs. I agree though, he could use some kit changes. Mostly with his e ability, seems way outdated nowadays.

Lol you're obviously very inexperienced with Talon, or have no idea of his potential. First of all, Talon dumpsters on Ekko. I have NEVER lost a lane as a Talon player against an Ekko. The only hard lanes I can think of for Talon are Diana and Fizz, and you can beat both by getting an early hexdrinker, and starting flask 3 pots instead of the usual long sword 3 pots.

I searched you up on OP.GG, and you have a negative KDA of an average of 5.1 kills and an average of 5.8 deaths. Talon is extremely strong in the right hands, especially when you know the right time to go in. If you want tips on how to play him better, feel free to ask. Sincerely, a Talon main.

I was expecting this sort of post.

You failed to notice that while I have a poor KDA on this account, I've only actually got ~300 games played. A smart, observational person would have pointed that out. This is not my main account. I use this one to test different builds, practice champions and play with friends. Ergo, the rest of your post is irrelevant.

I have very close to one thousand games with him, ~500 of which are ranked.

This was not a post about Talon being weak vs Ekko. I have no issues laning against him. Ekko was used as an example champion. Newer champions have so much on their kit while Talon is extremely one dimensional. Sure, some champions are simple, some are complex. But for Talon has been feeling more and more outdated in what he can do. Like I said, his nerfs were required. Now, however, it's time to think about either reversing them in some form or changing his skill set up. He's still good in what he does, but there is always a better pick in ranked/draft.

This is what gives League such a hostile, unpleasant, unwelcoming atmosphere. People, such as yourself, are so quick to attack anyone they disagree with (either on the forums, or in game). If you are to reply to my thread again, please comment on the actual champion and do not attempt to attack my personal ability or experiences with him. That's not the way to encourage positive conversation. Thank you. :)

Nothing at all?

Played a few games with him yesterday. In each game, the opposing mid said "Oh, a Talon!" and then went on to say how he used to main him but he's just so unviable now compared to other champs. I know I'm not the only one who thinks this.

So nothing's happening with him?

Shame. Guess I'll have to wait.

Riot has said that they want to work on him but he's really far down the line. They are basically saying, they like where Talon is at right now and a major update won't be happening anytime soon.

Shame. I feel that with the removal of item 2041 Talon is going to see his play rate drop massively. He needs it for almost all his lane opponents.

Uhmmm removal of what exactly? All I see is "> xD

I wouldn't bank on any new changes. Of all the changes they could have made, they made the least important. If you are dying mid w, you sure as hell don't deserve the full damage on it.
