Who are the best support champions?
I have long been looking for great support champions that I enjoy, not like Thresh. Any lists on the best support champions one should buy?

It completely depends on your own playstyle. Like playing agressive? Go for Annie, brand, zyra, velkoz. Do you like a passive playstyle? Soraka, Janna. Like playing tanky? Leona, Thresh, Taric, Braum. Little bit of everything? Lulu, Nami, Sona.
Play them and decide for yourself what is best for you.

But if you mean in general Thresh, Braum and Janna are all God-picks
It's all situational to your ADC, team comp, and enemy team comp.
Well it doesn't matter . The thing with a tank supp or regular one is your constricted to hoping your adc will follow up. If you say lux Morgan zil Annie zyra your not constricted

I am a support main and in my opinion it's pretty much ranged supports, Soraka because she is the Queen of support and will always be up there, Janna because she has the strongest shield that also increases AD plus her ult, Zyra because she can basically makes it impossible for the enemy to get CS due to her plants zoning in on them and has stupid strong CC, last but not least is Lux because she has crazy range and her ult makes sure you never leave lane alive. Karma is also good but I wouldn't call her top tier, her shield isn't that good unless you ult it, her root isn't that reliable since you can easily break free from it, and, from my experiences as ADC, her Q has a tendency to take CS. I wouldn't call any tank supports top tier, except Thresh, because they are shockingly more dependent on there ADC than ranged ones. If I had to consider one it would probably be Braum because his ice shield combined with decent poke and his ult.
