That Relic Shield is absolute trash and needs to be changed to generate income a different way. The thing has been around for years, and people still wont let you proc it. Delete it.

How is that a problem with the item itself? My ADCs usually always let me proc it. That's not a con of the item, that's a con of your teammates.

that's the whole problem. It puts your income in the hands of other players. That is bad design.

Relic shield can’t be procced by ranged champs. Idk where somebody told you that relic shield procs on everybody but they were VERY VERY WRONG.

I feel like, if you're playing with a competent ADC: they will know that you have Relic Shield & they know when it's available: they will let you hit the big minion so you both get gold. I don't play a tanky support unless I'm playing with my husband's friends and we are all mic'd up, and I know my ADC in RL. It really boils down to synergy between not only Champion, but people.

You do when you are a high enough rank for people to know about the game. If you are in bronze then don’t expect anything, but at least mid gold and above people should know the basics of the items.

I personally think it does need a buff, maybe a CDR reduction in early levels, even when proc'd optimally it is the slowest of the 3 ward items to hit it'd gold threshold, it just isn't a very efficient gold item for supports. Bizzleberry, a Challenger tier supports even agrees that it's trash but it's the only optimal gold item for tanks like Alistar and Braum despite it being weaker than the other 2.

It has shitty gold in lane and essentially falls off entirely as mid game approaches while coin and spellthief supports start gaining their power spikes earlier than you.
