Can Someone Explain the LP system to me?

I don;t understand it. Over my past 4 games I've won 2 and lost 2. Based on logic I should've remained at the same amount of LP or maybe gain a tiny bit or lost a tiny bit. But I'm down 15 LP from what I was originally.

How am I supposed to climb if I lose so much LP but gain so little?

I won 5 straight games which landed me at 81LP. Then went L-W-L and now I have 59 LP. SO buy losing LP then "winning that LP back" and losing it again, I lost 22LP. Doesn't that seem a little harsh?

LP gains are measured by your MMR.

If your MMR is higher than your current rank, you'll gain more LP than you lose, if it's lower, then you'll lose more LP than you gain.

If you're losing more LP than you gain, you'll need to start winning really consistently to show the system that you belong where you're at, so that the LP gain finally overtakes your LP loss.

You have a negative Win/Loss so you will be losing more LP for a loss than you gain for a win until you get that up to around even (50%) or so. This is because the system has your MMR lower than the average for the current division you are in so it is making you lose LP at a faster rate to try to place you in the "correct" division.
