She's super hard to learn and get good at. I suck at her personally but did practice for like 2 weeks straight to get somewhat okay at animation cancelling.

Dude I promise if you take time to learn her you'll find fighting against her a LOT easier.

He's totally right though, I haven't lost lane to a Riven in ages, at my MMR/Elo at least, he'll I'll pick Aatrox into her with great success
EndlessSorcerer2 votesShe is rather annoying to deal with, tends to attract toxic players and can promote a selfish playstyle. Her performance is rather suspect (often either snowballing extremely hard or feeding just as badly), leaving them as unreliable factors.
Regardless of her actual state of balance, she is rather annoying to have as an ally or an enemy.

EndlessSorcerer1 votesShe was nerfed with the removal of Brutalizer and had a low-ish win-rate for quite some time. Itemization changes and buffs have brought her back into the meta.
Also, Yasuo and Fiora arrived to draw away much of her player-base (and receive the complaints instead).
